The main points being that she's not wearing a highschool uniform while Makoto is as, Rena saying "he's all grown up", Makoto calling Rena-san, as well as Makoto telling her even though he loves her he wants to be a "stronger man" for her which is classic for a younger guy and an older girl relationship.
