Nobody else was really commenting on it, but it felt like she was still testing him even after she said she accepted his confession, so I personally kept my guard up and wasn't able to even enjoy it and then they just implied she was actually being completely honest so it was very... Unsatisfying? I guess? Shows the importance of pacing, I suppose!

I wholly agree, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. I understood the woman’s perspective of keeping her guard up because of bozos always leering at her sexually but it was strange on how easily she gave in and somehow believed his confession on try #2. (Second times the charm?) Granting him access to an all you can beat buffet. Usually, her type would start to come around when they’ve been heroically saved from impending danger. This story was rather unorthodox.

Feels like this was a 28 pg chapter with more time spent on her character arc and then the editor told them it was only getting 22 pgs and that got cut
