It's quite possible that Sensei "Suspects" just what happened to make Hiyama more *clears throat* Motivated ... he might one day reveal to his daughter "and that's how your mother and I got together". Then again, if he really "Knew", he'd challenge Hiyama to a duel on the spot, ... and not with bamboo swords, either. Hiyama's got much work to do before getting Sensei's Approval - Do Your Best, you Lucky Bastard.
Ah yes, nothing like a clear goal to motivate you to work hard! And I'm sure she'll be right next to him, cheering him on as he works hard in order to reach Sixth Dan and get her father to approve of him.
I kind of want to see a sequel where he finally reaches the Sixth Dan, and asks for her father's blessing/approval. Then maybe they'd duel it out and he would win, causing her father to acknowledge his effort.
Ain't No 'Maybe' About It ... even when Hiyama achieves Sixth Dan, 'Sensei' being the Overprotective Father that he is will put him to a challange that would make the Sixth Dan achievement look like nothing ... unless Sensei's wife, being a Tenth Dan (IIRC, few ever reach that far) *cough-cough* 'intervenes' (i.e., clonks Sensei on his head), saying: "Let Her Grow Up, Dear.", as probably her mother had to do in her time.
