My guess after looking into Ikiryo... she had an accident or illness that render her unconscious and was probably hospitalized for a long time her Ikiryo or out of body experience occurred, which she probably wonder back to most memorable place or last place she remembered. Additionally the Tree Spirit bit was probably it helping her regain consciousness and recover.
"If Souki-kun were to die now, I wouldn't have to be alone again"? While that is true...I'm sure there's another way!
That ending though! Hah, so the cat was the tree spirit all along, and decided to be a wingman this one time as thanks for watching over the tree.
Hmm, so she was alive the entire time, and the reality is that she just moved away? Since the version of Hisa we see in this release is a wraith...So, maybe it's kinda separate from her real self, like a manifestation of her regret/feelings over not ever being able to convey that she liked him?
Certainly a little confusing, but the only interpretation that kind of makes sense to me is that since the cat can't 'revive' her because she's...well, still alive, instead of taking away the wraith's memories, he just transferred it to her real self or something like that? And then the guy moves in next to her by that ending, and we get a happy Vanilla ending?
Takashi has an interesting jugling act going from assault to sweet vanilla like this, from couples banter to grupal rape. And all with quite the quality art.... SO I DEMAND A FREAKING BOOK!
1) The tree spirit states she isn't dead. I'm gonna guess she wasn't dead at all, but just not herself. The boy acts like she is an old friend when he sees her, almost like he hasn't seen her in some time, and this shocks her, cause she thinks she's dead and a ghost and shouldn't be able to see her. She stopped coming to play at the tree for an unstated reason, as she says, "does it matter?" She loved the boy but saw him getting older and moving forward and in her eyes, she became invisible to him. Only by accepting her feelings could she "move on" and get her wish to be with him.
OR
2) It actually was supernatural, as the tree spirit says "Your name is Katagiri Hisa and you became a Wraith.. unable to move on until you conveyed your feelings." A Wraith, by definition is "a ghost or ghostlike image of someone, especially one seen shortly before or after their death." The tree spirit then says "This is my thanks, for always watching over this place, even though my tree can longer bloom." Then in the final page we see flower petals at her feet as she sits on the bed, almost like she was the last bloom, and is informed that her "new" neighbors have moved in next door, which can only be the boy she loves as he states he is moving.
idk.. I'll be honest, I haven't thought this hard about a hentai like.. ever. In the end, we may never know. Art was great and the characters were really good. Story intrigues me, so 10/10!
Uh, ... unless this is based roughly on some popular or well-known myth or legend in Japan regarding ghosts, something seemed to go missing in the ending of this story (it's not always strictly about the 'naughty bits').
Nonetheless, it was cute enough to get the job done.
I think so, like maybe it split off from her when she had to move away and that's why her memory is jumbled. And then since her feelings never changed, cat-spirit sent the real her the wraith's memories and Souki as a reward.
