Fitting for a preqel but doesn't quite hit the same highs

I was really hopeful and excited for this book, but I feel that even though the story is quality, it didn't quite match up. Unlike the first story, this one seems to focus on an idea/experience for most of it and although there's some awesome visuals as always, I don't think it matched the level of the original. It was still good though.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting this to be as tender as it was.
