apple link at amazon robot link at amazon
:Here are the ground rules:
All submissions must be ORIGINAL material. (yeah that's a big one)
We will include both a short manga section with illustration divisions:
You can submit to either section:manga or illustrations
We will accept black and white line art(bleach, naruto, appleseed) and full color(udons street fighter work) the quotes are examples guidelines.
Unless its something exceptional we will only be accepting digital submissions.(simply because we dont have time to scan and photograph submissions) Tentative page size is 8 inches x 11 3/4 inches or
3200 pixels by 4700 pixels
The published deadline is Dec 2009. Meaning I will work up a submission to print deadline in the next week as i map out the project.
Please submit any other ideas you may have for the artbook so that we may consider them and decide if they may be included.
EDIT: FIRST OFFICIAL FAQ
Fakku Compilation Artbook Frequently Asked Questions: Version 1
Fakku FAQ Last Modified: 22 March 2009
1. How do I participate in the Compilation Artbook?
Submit your entries by the 6th of July, 2009 with the PDF Entry form. Observing the rules and deadlines will help keep you in the Artbook. There will be a preliminary dateline of May 11th, 2009, for those who want critiques to help improve their chances to get in.
2. What can I submit?
We are accepting ORIGINAL material. You can submit short manga or illustrations. The work can be black/white or full color. We are planning on printing this artbook so your final submission must be print quality.(minimum 300 DPI @ 2100 pixels by 2100 pixels for full page spreads).
3. What can’t I submit?
Pornography. Huh, but Fakku is an H-Site? We know. We don’t mind adult stories, language, violence and nudity, just refrain from being explicit.
4. I want to submit more than one?
You are allowed to submit more than one manga or illustration for consideration. But due to the high quality of work we will demand, we would recommend that you focus on doing only one manga. You can do as many illustrations as you want.
5. Does everyone who submits art to the book get in?
No. The submissions will be judged by the editorial panel. It’s really as simple as that.
6. Those are huge files I don’t know if my computer can handle them?
We will be initially accepting submissions at web quality (72 dpi) so your initial file sizes don’t have to be bigger than about 3 MB each.
7. If I submit something is it really going to get in?
All submissions will be reviewed for inclusion. We will do our best to comment and critique your work to help you meet our publication guidelines.
8. What are the deadlines?
- May 11, 2009: Critique Deadline
- July 6, 2009: Preliminary Deadline
- August 3, 2009: Production/Final Selection Deadline
9. How will the artist be compensated?
We plan on compensating the artists if/when we make enough to cover printing costs. Details will be given if/when that happens. There may be other perks for artists as situations arise.
10. I got cut! Do I get another chance?
The short answer is no. The long answer is there will be a cover contest. The competition will be fierce, you can expect people to work especially hard at making the cover of our first annual art compilation. There will be a site wide vote for our cover.
11. I didn’t get notified if I’m in or not?
Of those who submit for the July 6th Deadline, we will only notify those who made the cut. There will be a general post that all submissions have been notified. If you didn’t receive one, there is still the cover contest.
12. Will you critique my entries?
Those submitted by May 11th will be critiqued to give you some direction. Of the entry submissions only those who are notified as accepted will get comments .
13. I did a kick ass drawing of Orihime from Bleach, can I enter it?
No. First of all we are looking for original material. Second, we cannot publish any work that potentially infringes on the copyrights of another person or company: you have to get the permission of the rights holder first. The original copyright holder must contact us to express permission.
14. Will the artbook be offered as a virtual/e-book?
Our priority is to make a book people can love.

The official size is now 2100h x 2100w.
19. Is ecchi/perverted illustration/manga allowed?
We like to think of it in terms of an R movie rating. Just be careful not to cross over into X.

10 pages maximum give or take.
21. Is 4 koma style manga acceptable?
Yes. Let’s see what you can do with it.

It’s the official day the books get retail distribution.
