Fakku.Net Story Recommendation Thread (FAQ on the 2nd post)

[size=14]This thread was made considering the significant increase on the number of writings posted in this section, with the purpose to encourage more readers.

In this thread you could post the link of a story in this section that you really like, and state the reason why, posting some quick review along with it is also very acceptable.[/h]

Some Guidelines on Posting (Revised as of January 2013) :

-Note that it's greatly advised NOT to post your own works here, since the objectivity of your recommendation would be questionable.

-Respect the choice of others, no flaming/trolling please.

-Each user can recommend up to 3 stories each month

-I'll compile the links you've posted here by the month. To make things easier on compiling the titles, avoid recommending duplicate titles (those who were already recommended in the past)

You can just Ctrl + F the Duplicate Entry Detector if you're feeling a bit lazy to check out all the entries from the beginning

-Staring January 2013, if the user made a recommendation post of the story that had already been recommended during the same month. Their name would be added in the recommendation list behind the first user who recommends the story.

In other words, you can recommend the same story as long it's in the same month. But it's rendered invalid if it's already at a different month compared to the first recommendation post.

-I won't be present here all the time, so I'm sorry if the list weren't being updated for quite some time.

Q : Can we recommend poetry for this list?

A : Sure you can, as this is a 'Story' Recommendation, not 'Prose' Recommendation. If you think that the poetry tells a story and such that really appeals to you, feel free to recommend this.

Q : How about choose-your-own-adventure and Role Plays?

A : For the Role Plays it's a definite no, I view it more like a pen and paper RPG game more like a story. I would put the choose-your-own-adventure as a 'No' in the meantime because I don't really understand it. Feel free to discuss with me whether I should include this or not.

Q : What kind of short review would be acceptable for the addition of this list?

A : Frankly enough, you can just say that you like the story in the recommendation post, but if you could write a detailed and interesting review about it, I'm sure there would be more people interested on checking out the story you recommended.

Q : Can we recommend a doujin or manga by the users in here?

A : Sure, just make sure it was made by a Fakku User, and they already made a thread in here, and it doesn't have to be made in the Writing Section. You know, there's also some doujin and manga threads in the Art and Digital Graphics too.

Q : How about the entries from the other sites such as Fanfiction, Fictionpress, or else?

A : Sorry, in order to be recommended, the story has to be posted on Fakku first. I think it's still acceptable if the story thread has an external link to the sites, though.

Q : So, it wasn't exclusively made for the Writing Section, huh?

A : Nope, it's okay as long the story's already posted on Fakku. I've seen users posting the stories on Chat Topics and Forum Games, and the Art Section (for the manga works).

I recommend:

I haven't read it fully myself, but its still really good.

Kyuubi no Shinigami's Black Life. It's still a WIP, and updates are rather infrequent, but I like it so far.

This is nice, chapter 1 (available up to chapter 3 now though) had me very interested, I can only think that this will only get better as time passes.

Although there are some grammatical errors and all that but it got its humor and everything. And its fair share of complexion.

I want this thread stickied. The reason is simple. Finding anything on this forum if you don't know what exactly you're searching is mostly impossible. Damn useful, that's for sure.

I would also of recommended CoffeePrince's V-Day story, but he claims he has another short work that can top it. Might as well wait.

Jericho has a more serious and descriptive writing style, but the flow of words is rather pleasant, making most of his stories an enjoyable read. If you want that sort of writing and not a light novel style of writing ( like most of the stories here ), check his out.

Toxic Influence won the Valentine's Day Poetry contest, and you can see why from just reading the poem he/she submitted. Also an enjoyable read.

I already reserved the second post in case this would happen, so no worries. It would be great if this one gets stickied, but it's all up to Jacob's decision.



I guess you guys could include poems since stories could be told in various forms.

And I also agreed with your point, Jerry's one of the underrated good writers here, it's a pleasure to have his stories on the list.

Anyway, good thread idea, and I hope to see it around for a while. Haven't really given the board a thorough once-over yet, but if I find anything good I'll come a-hollerin'.

I'm pretty honored to have my story recommended ^_^ Kinda brings some pressure though. I'll try my best to make my story a worthy read.

I recommend the compilation ofNeoro~n's Writings to the list. The pieces are short, written in an easy to understand manner, and cover large topics well considering their length.

I recommend Onegai Kaho-chan that's written by Krystel, the user left this site quite some time ago so it's now marked as anonymous.

It's a bittersweet story that made me laughed a lot, and it's pretty stimulating, you guys better give it a shot sometime. You might want to hate me for this, but I like the unique-ness on this one even if it's simply written. So....

Feels great to see my only long project recommended. I'm kinda out of hiatus now, and the series is nearing its end so I hope I don't disappoint.

I feel like I'm the only who's gonna recommend this, but I'd still like to suggest Mommy's Boy by The Randomness. For a lemon, it's pretty concise in writing, unlike the usual detailed works, and it may just be considered PWP by some. However, I think it pulls off its mission pretty well, that being a hot a story that can get you aroused. This is especially true with the new direction the plot is taking, focusing less on the plot, but more on the sex, character interactions and writing. Specialization, you can say.

Hope this doesn't come off as too biased. It's my first time recommending a fiction.

Give me some time to read through more stories found in the Writing and Fanfiction section, so that I can come up with some recommendations in future.

To tell the truth, I kinda enjoy some of Joe-Kun's Pokemon fanfiction. Of course, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but using the background information and personalities of offical characters, and subsequently coming up with a decent storyline, does not sound like an easy feat to me.

Now if only he could see that. Always a pleasure to see you around, Gambler. The attention is very much appreciated.
