" JAPAN " anime opening vs " U.S.A " cartoon opening

which is the best opening theme.

but the Ben 10 is also good in someway. But the problem that I don't like is american cartoons "usually" use "clips" from the show, so no actual effort to make a nice OP sequence. in other words "Copy-paste and make a slide show with some music"

Well the Anime opening is sort of average for it's type and the cartoon opening is slightly above average for it's kind.

I don't to see a change in art styles in the middle of my openings, unless that was the theme of the show. Whatever Kaimax said, the F/SN also did a small clip show. But I still like the anime op. I never liked the opening of Ben10.

I meant that the Japanese animes, "usually" will make something original "majorly" for a OP sequence, while majorly American cartoons, use that clip copy paste method which I don't like for creativity issues. :D

I also really agree with this...i find it somewhat annoying that US cartoon openings do that. Japan anime openings are really good because they don't show alot about what happens in the anime/cartoon. Japan makes their clips that goes with the music.

Of course it would have to Japanese anime opening. Their songs are always accurate to sound and tone because if it wasn't the whole song would sound off. Also they always pick good scenes that go along with the song that is being sung. :3

Yeah, for the Transformers and SPC, the japanese version was better. Although I will argue that if 4Kids had hired experts to do the openings, the music and op would be so much better. Well, if they had the same people who did the Pokemon Ops...

Japan ops will always be better than American ops

I think its because the japanese put some feeling into their anime, I think to them anime isnt just cartoons like here in the US...

At least toss a cool show up there, like Ren and Stimpy. The sheer stupidity makes it great.

There is more effort done in an anime opening than in a USA cartoon opening.

Seconded. Ren and Stimppy was the best animated show of my childhood (US-made anyway).

Sometimes I like shows like Ben10, Team Titans and Avatar the last airbender; they have some catchy songs and themes. But as for the dubs, it's sorta embarassing to see the Japanese dub OPs on TV, much less, their own English versions of dubs. Sorta worked out in the old days but I punched myself after watching Naruto dub for the first time.

Gargoyles and Mighty Max were pretty awesome. Keith David is still a badass amongst voice actors.





In response to the OP i think Anime is a bit more expansive when compared to modern American Cartoons which seem to be targeted towards younger audiences. Even then if you compare the Anime that kids watch in Japan to what we're watching in the states you can see there's alot more depth in Anime.

Comparisons aside i would very much like to see American Cartoons expand more. we were making good progress but where did stuff like this go.

On topic. It really depends on how much they work on it. Which means that Japanese Openings win over this one almost everytime.

An example of excellent USA animation OP is Avatar

I miss the old days where japan's ops. weren't mess with as much and the only differents between the two was the audio, but the usa audio was very similar to the japan's in my book and they sound great.



but there is one opening that is just random and messy, but I can't get enough of this usa audio
