Go watch more. I know the first episode really put some people off (because of the food-talk), but it's not the only thing they talk about. Duh.

I watched like ten episodes and I mean it's pretty much just them experiencing daily things like going to school, eating lunch, talking about stuff....I mean the anime is for the moe factor more than content really.

I can tell you right now this show isn't going to be for you. All they do is talk about the quirks of life and parody other anime. It grew on me after a while, but I also thought it was incredibly dull at first. I actually would watch a episode before going to sleep sort of mellow out...

You have to have some appreciation and understanding of random Japanese cultural references and idioms to enjoy Lucky Star to the fullest.

Aw well I thought it was funny, daily slice of life stuff.

At first, I was like WTF is this shit but as I kept watching it got better. I liked the series but I don't think I can say I'm a fan of the slice of life genre of anime. I mean if I wanted to watch people live their daily lives, I'd go out more often haha.

Personally I prefer Azumanga Daioh to Lucky Star.

Thought the exact same thing. But then I watched the end and then went to the second ep and it was cool.

I can honestly say I hate that show, I guess what really got me to hate it was how much fucking hype it got, I was really into Azumanga and some stupid bitch said lucky shit was better than Azumanga, so I got all interested and decided to animarathon it one day... I was disappoint and I told the girl how shitty that piece of shit show was and she should be ashamed to compare it to Azumanga, I can NOT see one good thing about lucky shit...

Its boring, its double plus un-funny, all it has is some lolis and one that likes anim00, with a cleft lip... thats all...

I think I woulda liked it more if it was at least somewhat like this, but its not so I dont like it... the doujins are sometimes good though, thats all...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like Lucky Star. I see the huge following and it makes it hard to voice your opinion when your only going to get shot down. I don't agree that its a total waste of time though as it does have its moments but the random conversations about food and clothes and culture definitely make it hard to follow. I did give it a chance but I eventually dropped it after the 5th episode. I'll probably pick it back up when I get bored and finish it out just to say that I've seen the entire series but my initial impression has already been set. Who knows - maybe the rest of the series turns out to be pretty good and I'll end up refuting this post.
