I think that A-Drei is more likely to be the prince's ancestor considering A-Drei's noble blood, his Dorssian-ish outfit, and similar features (though the hair color is more on L-Elf's side).
It would have been hilarious if Haruto's time bromancing resulted in L-Elf asphyxiating. So the way I see it Pino is hungry for runes, Rukino makes an abrupt appearance to save Haruto which will probably result in them being jammed into the cockpit of Rukino's Valvrave. I sense another consensual rape scene or another extreme disappointment.
Well, that was a nice way of thematically following up the previous episode, "The Cost of Lies". So everyone starts laying out everything they have been hiding. And I think everyone is better off for it.
They should have made this into a 50 episode anime separated by 25 + 25 like Gundam 00. I don't know how the remaining plot will be filled in the remaining episodes >.<;
Well, sadly, it looks like Saki's (and Haruto's) rape scene was just for shock value after all. Also, this series really needed the 50-episode treatment.
The only thing I like about this anime so far is the Mecha, the Valvrave its so cool. It rivals all other mechas other than the Nirvash from Eureka Seven. I don't really connect with the characters like I do in other animes though.
So naturally everybody cool, except for people from Dorssia, dies and a bunch of hot vampire space zombie widows are left behind. I put too much faith in my ships..
It's pretty close to nailing one of those "we won but at what cost?" endings that certainly could have been better, like if during the dying bromance between Haruto and L-Elf they could have had Rukino jump in which would have been a hilarious scene concerning the irony for her happiness over Haruto losing his memory, but still a competent scene. A couple things were just briefly dusted over like what exactly happened to Pino and Plu, stating that the Prince's direct ancestors are A-drei & that Royalist woman, L-Elf's death since he chose to stay human, etc but still pretty damn good anime overall.
Bummer that Haruto died, but was expecting that, considering the future bits and how Marie died. Only real surprise for me was how the ARUS Prez decided to go against the Maguis, didn't think he had the balls.
The Wrap up though could have been longer, wanted to see more of what happened to the characters.
Only real surprise for me was how the ARUS Prez decided to go against the Maguis, didn't think he had the balls.
Spoiler:
Nah, it wasn't a surprise, the ARUS President looked like he was always waiting for a moment to get out from under the Council's grip. It does seem that ARUS and Dorssia are united in the future as it seems to me that it is Earth forces attacking the Third Empire.
Episode 24:
Spoiler:
I still feel that most of the issues with this series could have been solved by being longer, but oh well. It ended more less how it was expected to end. It was interesting how the message board stuff that was displayed throughout the series ties into how society was interconnected and how there could be no secrets.
Epilogue:
So apparently the guy that looks like Satomi is actually his descendent. Satomi gets married to Takahi. A-drei catches the wedding bouquet, much to everyone's dismay, even his own. (I laughed as his left eye twitched.) Poor Kriemhild. Also that prince child is either A-drei's descendant or a descendant of that guy who Kriemhild was talking to over the phone.
