It's all about moderation. Also, expectations of what you are getting yourself into. Obviously, if you are watching AIKa or something you know what you are diving in right from the get-go.

i like the manga Rosario + vampire it has very little FS... sadly the shit anime it spawn had nothing but FS... so when they do things like that it makes me sad... but it really depends on the series some i am glade some have FS like Yosuga no Sora it think it is very appropriate...

The entire reason I started watched anime in the first place was the comedy value of innuendo laden ecchi comedies. Ranma 1/2 was the series to show me there was more to anime than mecha, pokemon and sailor moon.
Panty & Stocking is pretty win with that regards, even though the so called fanservice isn't very erotic, barring a couple of transformation scenes.
Yosuga no Sora is also amazing. It's the first time I've seen an eroge adapted into an anime actually done properly, i.e. it's got divergent storyarcs for each girl and it shows them engaged in some rather detailed softcore sex scenes that are fit into the story properly with the right amount of romantic build up preceeding them.
A few other unmentioned ecchi titles that have been pretty win.

Seikon no Qwaser
Kamen no Maid Guy

As someone who watches anime almost exclusively for the hot girls, fanservice is a must in any non-H anime I watch (with very few exceptions).
If it's not fappable, I'll probably lost interest; I watch anime to masturbate and get off.

I like fanservice. So as long as it is the right place like filler or light-hearted episodes. A lesser amount of panty-shots in important fight scenes would be nice though.

I watched Rosario + Vampire (Although I read the manga's season I first) and by god, it had fanservice all the time. Pantyshots mostly. I was so irritated that I took an episode and counted up to 70 pantyshots. Later on I read season II of the manga and to my surprise there were far less pantyshots in one book than one episode of the anime. I do not like the anime, but I watched it to the end because the story and humor is good. But I really love fanservice. But Rosario + Vampire overdid it.
In conclusion: Fanservice is a great thing to have, as long as it is not overdone.
