and did anyone realize that SHAFT was being convenient again...
Since Hiroshi Kamiya also voiced Itoshiki Nozomu from zetzubou Sensei. :D
and almost all the other characters....
Well that was ... interesting. It was kind of funny how the episode seemed to almost refer to Scientology, but Shaft sure knows how to make a really creepy situation even creepier. So she "asked a god" to take away her pain and was left without emotions. Losing weight was merely a side effect from it. Coincidentally, the god was a temperamental one, and just gave Araragi an extra 45 kg (lol). It's interesting to know that Araragi has two sisters.
I hope there's a flashback arc so we see how Araragi was turned into a vampire. I'm also looking forward to seeing what's up with Shinobu.
I liked episode 2 but I have a question for people that know something about this story. Is this a series of short stories or is it one continuous series? I ask because the title of the upcoming episode just sounded like something completely different.
LOL this one seems very interesting. I like the back and forth sarcasm in this anime, i find that pretty funny. The Artwork is unique, everything is so crisp and outlined at times. I would definitely buy this anime series on blue ray if it ever comes out just for the the artwork . lol hitagi lied when she said her body isn't worth sinning over :3 .
P.S: Is there a manga for this series? I really want to read this.
This anime just peaked my interest with it's mere mention of vampires. Hopefully it does not disappoint me
Halfway through Episode 1, my reaction: OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! Vampires or not this series just hooked me in. I don't fully understand what's going on but I did fall in love with this series.

Since no one has bothered to answer you yet, I believe the series is composed of short character/story arcs which aren't exactly episodic, but similar to Hitagi's 2 episode arc. It's continues, in a sense that the series would follow the events from the previous episodes, meaning that you can expect to see Araragi and Hitagi in the following episodes getting along as friends... or so I'd say but I just don't know how much more of a bitch Hitagi could get, considering the way she treated Araragi in the past episode. (Actually, I won't spoil it...)
Try to visit its official website from time to time as well. The next arc should focus on Mayoi and judging from these caps, Hitagi should also be making an appearance in the third installment. Raws of it should already be out.

I wonder if there's gonna be another OP theme... Here's "Staple Stable" sung by Hitagi's VA Chiwa Saito. (featuring staplers making love...)
If there's anything more to add, in case you guys didn't already know...

The series is scheduled to be 15 episodes long but will broadcast only the first 12 episodes. The remaining episodes will be distributed on the official website.
I'm not sure of the details but I think the remaining three will feature the story arcs prior to Hitagi Crab; Koyomi Vamp and Tsubasa Cat.
As for the second episode, it's just as Zero said. I'd say it's good, despite the fanservice and the "cold" treatment that Araragi got from Hitagi (which apparently was also due to her lost weight/feelings) that ate most of its first half. I for one would rather have Shaft reduce/cutback on the fanservice for I wouldn't want this series to be known in such a way. It wouldn't hurt of course but just for the record, that's not what got me interested nor is the reason as to why I decided to watch this.
Anyway, the most enjoyable part for me was the entire exorcism/summoning sequence which started out with the questioning (that I found funny) to a sudden serious shift and so on and so forth... culminating in the start of a new "friendship". And it didn't exactly end there as we got to see Araragi's two cute younger sisters forcefully waking him up. :D
Spoiler:
I wonder who's Karen and who's Tsukihi...
...and WTF has it gotta be Aya Hirano who plays Shinobu?!
@kyosukei: Japan, most probably. Rather than that, I've got no idea... sorry
What can I say... it saddens me whenever a post of mine goes unread.
Either way, due to my lack of motivation... I won't post anything long this time. I'd just like to say that I found myself laughing in synch with Araragi's laughter right after he's KO'd Mayoi. (nevertheless, Mayoi was awesome) :D
Pertaining to the first part of the episode, I'd have to say that I felt somewhat at ease/relieved. It simply felt so serene, almost as if I found myself in that exact same place. Being alone isn't really a bad thing esp when you've already gotten quite used to it.
Just to add more relevance in my post...
Speaking of Hitagi... *speechless* -I don't hate her but I just can't say that I like her...(obviously, she's the kind of girl that I'd least want to talk to)... I'm not too sure if those two could really enter a dating relationship and actually make it work... if there's anything left to add, they're such an odd couple; Hitagi and Araragi that is.

Not replying =/= not reading. Just saying.

I like her. She's so honest all the time it's actually quite praiseworthy. I can imagine them in a relationship, really all that would change would be the things that Hitagi says to mess with Araragi.
