I haven't watched dubbed anime since I got into it. I mean Gundam Wing was the last dubbed anime I watched. Actually, I'm lying I still watch the dubbed Pokemon when I wake up early in the morning before school. But even then I could care less as long as the anime industry in Japan is booming, I'm fine.

It's good on the note that we are getting less bad dubs (I can still remember Bible Black) and characters being out of tone (with respect, 40 with 18 does not combine!); but at the same time, the emphasis Bang Zoom tells is "if there is less exposure of an anime from Japan, the less likely people will know to what series you speak of."
This is true, as I didn't know why people were ninja and reaper costumes until I watch the series (in Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, Naruto; Bleach).

I prefer watching dubs since it means less reading but if it's hentai then i watch subs since it just sounds so wrong...
Bang Zoom quiting won't effect me at all.
It's not like Bang Zoom is the only company dubbing anime and them quiting will end it all.
Btw who the hell is Bang Zoom? I never heard of them before

I don't like dubs.
The only dubbed anime I watched was trigun
aside from that everything hurts my ear.
If the good companies would create something
more decent then they won't have any problem

to download and stream illegally but they are
still profiting most of the anime stores in
my region contains 30% naruto, 30% bleach,
20% One piece and 10% etc(death note, lucky star, gundam)...
plus the money they make when it show in

Certain shows I'll prefer one over the other. There are very little dubs I've heard that I outright despise though. Like, Clannad, I don't think the English is bad, though I do think the way they pronounce their names is kinda, funny, but I love the original Japanese cast. Azumanga Daioh on the other hand, while I enjoyed a few of the voices in Japanese, like Osaka, I really liked the dub more overall.
For me, it's just my personal tastes. I happen to think that One Piece's 4kids dub had better suited voices than FUNimations, just that the scripting was pretty, awful. An example of a dub show I absolute hated was, I think the second Loddoss War series. I only skimmed past it on some channel, but wow, was I blown away. I'd have to hope that's not a DVD release dubbing, but I'll probably never find out.
I also like buying the DVDs just to have on me, and watch occasionally. I don't download stuff, sounds weird, but I'm too lazy to look around for it.

Agreed. Azumanga Daioh was a definite exception. It was much better dubbed. There are very few dubs that I outright hate, but I do generally prefer subs.
A lot of people use the argument "but you have your attention divided between reading and watching." Really? I've never thought anything terribly important flashed by the screen for a mere second that reading subtitles prevented me from seeing. Multi-tasking between watching the actual animation and reading the subtitles has always been a non-issue for me.

I don't see how this is bad. I don't have anything from Bang Zoom so if they go they won't be missed.
The only way I can see this hurting me is if I want the original DVDs/Blu-ray of a certain anime. The costs for DVDs in Japan are ridiculous, so my wallet will probably be crying if I don't see anime DVDs being released over here.

While Bang Zoom! has done some good work this is the nature of the beast when you live in a capitalistic society. And while I do think piracy doesn't HELP anime sales, to say it will out right kill anime in the US is fucking ridiculous. Anime has always been a niche, but a strong dedicated niche. I think the current problem has been the time gap in releases and over saturation.
Companies have finally stopped licensing EVERYTHING that comes out of Japan and with this slow down and the release of subbed only box sets has hurt Bang Zoom and other dubbing companies. This is really why he is freaking out. I don't really blame the guy. This company is his baby. It is kill or be killed and Bang Zoom is going to have to streamline the dubbing process and come up with other innovations to coincied with these trends.
Dubbing will never go away, cable TV and Miyazaki movies will make sure of that, but we will start seeing a consolidation and/or closing of dub studios in the coming future. And that will make me sad since dubbing was my gateway to this awesome world. If DUBBING where to die out completely a whole new generation will never get their Toonami and that is what scares me!
