wow! what a great episode, on episode 17 i kinda didn't like how tomoya was acting but this episode just flipped everything around, he's cool again. man KEY what would we do with out you, they really know how to deliver good anime.

Yea, I personally want to see a Kyou ending.
As for the happiness stuff: Thats just what Tomoya gains after helping someone out. Ex. Misae with the "cat", Fuuko with the wedding, Sunohara with his sister, etc. Tomoya has done most of these throughout the story. Couple that with the random illusionary world scenes and a wish is going to be made. What that wish is, we can only speculate.
As for the illusionary world: It is a play that only Nagisa remembers. I originally thought that she had seen her parents perform this but after watching it numerous times, that is not so. Only Nagisa remembers, but why? It really makes no sense at all. It's only purpose is a random, convenient plot device that will grant a wish so you see the good end in the game. It really has no place at all in the anime except for the theater scene and Nagisa discovering her parents' past.
I really wished they made the anime more realistic and cut out the Fuuko ghost and the illusionary world. I'd probably regret not seeing Fuuko as her scenes were pretty hilarious at times. Well, if you discount those 2 things, Clannad has been the best slice-of-life anime I've ever seen.

A peculiar point in my otaku career. Clannad never made me devour it the second a torrent/bot pack was added and yet each time I watch an episode (few last ones especially) I'm more and more in awe ...
I found 18 even more emotional than 16 (witch nearly made me drop the series) and I honestly don't remember when I rooted for a happy ending this strongly before.
edit : Let's hope that making this my 666th post wasn't a mistake. Only noticed it now ... :?
