It's not. Tomoya never dies in any of the Clannad series or arcs. That guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

According to the people at NF this can end in two ways, and i quote:
Spoiler:
Killing off Ushio was a horrible mistake. It leaves two possibilities:

1. Ushio and Nagisa stay dead. The moral of the story: life sucks and then you die.

I would not be pleased with this ending, but I would be satisfied. However, the writers of Clannad don't have the balls for that kind of ending.

2. Ushio and/or Nagisa get revived. The moral of the story: life sucks, and then magic glowing orbs collaborate with a metaphorical robot from another world to make everything work out perfectly and all your dreams come true.

Dunno if i like either of the endings, but i would prefer nr.2 tbh, too much depressing shit going on already for nr.1.

episode 22 (raw) is out, cried ssooo much, but loved it so much, the Fuko portion afterward was hilarious.

Im pleased with the ending~ :D

This was one anime that i wanted to end happy, i usually like sad endings, but i'll make an exception for this one.
It has had enough depressing shit as it is.

Epic stuff.

It may have ended happy but it was for a lame reason in my opinion. I never did like the idea of time travel and I still don't. It makes no sense. Does Tomoya realize he went back in time? Does he not find it strange that everything has just reversed in time by 5 years? He acted as if he knew he went back in time. I guess he just considered it as something best not questioned.

After watching how they did it, I kind of disagree. To me he may have time traveled but I think of it as just a side effect of having the light orbs save Nagisa. I mean, he didn't physically change anything or do anything differently. All that changed was fate.
There is a strong supernatural sense to the show anyway.

And I don't think he remembered. I think that subconsciously his mind recalled back to when she died so that jolted him.

Still all of the stuff that happened (even tho it was good story telling) was pointless after Nagi died. The stuff after Nagi died was key just wanting to see how much they could make men baw like little girls (which they did quite well. T_T). They could have always just not have her die in the first place but I guess that would have gotten in the way of the research of how much men can cry.


I would have been perfectly happy with 6 or so episodes of Tomoya and Nagi daily life.

I'm not saying I didn't like it. In fact it is one of the best. Anyone that says R+V or To love ru has the same depth is retarded. A anime like this should be praised for it's story telling and depth. Even if the ending was a little iffy.

Also we still get some bonus episodes so that's something to look forward to.

You can't say that all the sad events were for naught. It had a point. Like you said, it's a story. A story is nothing without conflict. That was the conflict. This was the resolution. End of story. (no pun intended)

dang... that's really disappointing :x
here I though, there'll be alternate ending on the bonus episodes.
for example; Tomoya accept things as they are and continue to live on and marry Kyou or Tomoyo

Some things will just have to be left to our imaginations I guess. Really bummed on not having an alternate ending but at least we get a different perspective to watch now. I guess if you guys want to see some good endings your just going to have to play the game now XD

Watched it - loved it. Mainly because I was more than prepared for you-know-what and desired nothing else. The whole 16 minutes were excellent ... then came in Fuko and wasted yet more screentime.

I've ranted all I've needed (for now) in the ep discussion but I'm gonna recall one thing - is it just me that thinks Tomoyo got seriously (purposefully?) omitted these last few months ? All we've received was talk about her or 'waiting' shots like this one . Then again - there wasn't much to be shown without going to anime-original...
Still - is it too naive to hope for Tomoyo After getting animated ? The Hentaigod knows that there's an army of people out there waiting for it.

I am by far the biggest clannad vagina of all time, i've never bawed soooooooo many times during the span of any show as i have for this.

I really can't wait for key's next big project, I hope they continue to make me baw for many years to come.
