Does watching Pokemon make you childish?

I recently started watching Pokemon Diamond and Pearl and my friend saw me and told me I was really childish for watching such a pathetic anime. I'll admit I've seen more interesting anime than pokemon for sure but there's something about it that keeps drawing me back to it.

How do you guys think Pokemon stacks up against other titles and am I really childish for watching it?

Well to me I don't believe it does, but the Pokemon now just sucks it was a lot better back when it first started compared to all this new crap.

While I don't enjoy it anymore I don't think it is childish. It really just depends on a person's point of view. Just watch whatever you like and don't worry what anyone else thinks.

I mean from a certain point of view, TTGL is very childish, yet tell that to the tens of thousands who have watched it and still watch it. XD

Hell, I still watch a lot of the seasons of Zoids every year. While not my first, Zoids was the first anime that started me down the Otaku trend I'm on now so I pay homage to it every year, and that isn't any more or less childish than Pokemon. XD

Well people think cartoons are childish. To most people, it's childish. It may be childish but I sure don't care.

I don't really like it that much anymore. Something about the voice actors. I miss the old voices, even after these few years.

Just because you watch something that's childish does not necessarily mean you are. As long as you maintain a sense of maturity, you will not be childish.

When i was like 12, pokemon was the maintrend in my area, everyone around me watches em and talked about the it after an episode on the TV



for me now id rather watch more matured and deeper animes, i guess its up to personal preference.

Haha it doesnt hurt to let the kid inside of you out every once in a while.Just do what makes YOU happy, dont care what other people think =]. Though, pokemon does bring nostalgia of saturday mornings when i was little. :{

Of course not! Personally, I love Pokemon but only the older ones. It's nostalgic.

The only people who would be childish in those situation are those who would call you out for watching the show.

Nah, I don't think so. I have a friend of mine who still watches it and she's 17 lol. =P

Still, I don't like the new series at all. The old ones still were something new and refreshing. Now they're just recycling the same formula and add worse voice acting.

If you like it, just go and watch it! There are so many children's series adults watch as well. '.'

I grow tired of Pokemon now, just cause the show now is just pathetic or at least the 4Kids dub. I'll admit, the first season was alright and was entertaining to watch. But now it's just getting old. But to answer the question, I don't think watching this makes you childish though I can understand why some people would think that way. Probably because more kids watch and play Pokemon (Gameboy/DS).

It's childish because it's a children's show. Nothing wrong with that.

The quality of the anime has dropped too much since first season for me to have any respect for people still watching it.

i used to like pokemon the anime too back in the days but now i got bored of it... but i still play the pokemon greenleaf gameboy advance games from time to time XD

pokemon is a series meant for children. children are easily entertained so after so many series they start half assing it? well it helps you to get touch with your inner child. so i would say its childish but it isnt always a bad thing.

I remember I tried to watch Pokemon like last year. (was 16 at the time) And god, that Anime sucks now!

And to answer the question, no I don't think it makes you childish. You watch what you wanna watch dude!
