Failed adaptions

In you opinion what are the most failed attempts to adapt a manga/lightnovel into an anime/manga/movie/other stuff.

The most obvious one would be DBZ evolution because the actor for goku is WHITE and everything is shit.

rosario and vampire is a shit adaptation due to it having more fan service than in the manga

well the problem with the fanservice was all the censorship, not point in having fanservice if its all gonna be censored, should have just left it out to begin with

DBZ (white people portraying the almighty ASIAN-JAPANESE Goku and friends? fuck it)

Max Payne. Yes, not anime. But it's still worthy of being mentioned. (only one bullet time scene? plus demons and shit? fuck it)

Tsukihime (wait, what am I saying? there's no tsukihime anime. at all. I should just erase this part... nah, I'l leave it be)














Future fails:

Cowboy Bebop (The dude from the matrix... have you seen him wearing Spike's attire? fuck it)

no.. compare the amount of fan service between the R+V manga and the anime, the manga contains a hell of a lot less and is more entertaining than the anime which has more panty shots then strike witches

I thought the actors for the movie wasn't what made it bad & Goku wasn't necessarily asian.

but what made the film terrible for me is they removed every thing about the dragonball universe and just kept most of the characters.

I was expecting to see all the cars & animal races.

Rave Master, aka Groove Adventure Rave

Grey blood? That's just great. But what really made this adaptation suck is that it ended before the really good stuff happened (in the manga). So, we don't get to see the kickass fights of the last ten volumes or so animated. It's terrible.

I doubt it was an adaptation per say, but the Pokemon anime has been vastly inferior to the Special manga since the first episode.

Seriously, if they made a Pokemon Special anime series and were actually faithful to the source material (or even better, based the games off the manga), Pokemon would become awesome again overnight.

Same goes for Negima, actually. If the anime -- either of them -- had been even remotely faithful to the manga, nobody would be watching Bleach or Naruto anymore because they'd all be rabid Akamatsu fans.

Then again, maybe that's for the best; Negima getting the regular shonen treatment and being dragged out for 300 episodes would probably butcher it just as badly as what we've got now.

Suzuka, in my opinion, was a failed adaption and inferior in every way to it's manga counterpart.

Not Tsukihime. There was never an anime for that.

Also, probably Hellsing in my opinion. They just went off the deep end with that thing.

Then they redeemed it by making the OVAs of constant epic shit. So it's all good.

Fate/ Stay Night anime was vastly inferior to the VN.

I don't expect anime to always be better or as good as the VN or manga like Clannad or even the level of naruto where at least it is done at a decent level. However, the quality had a major drop off and the story didn't flow right at all. Some episodes had nothing important in them while others where trying to squeeze in too much. Plus the animation made Tohsoka look wierd in my opinion.

Why? I have watched four episodes but have not read the manga. Now I have to read the manga.

This. And it's not even because of the fanservice. It's mainly because they threw practically the whole damn plot out the window in favor of random bullshit. :\

Rosario + Vampire anime had little to no plot it looked like. I dropped it partway through.

Naruto is another one. Although, the manga is just as bad now. >_<

To be honest I think someone who hasn't read the manga may enjoy the anime easily. It's just I starte dwith the manga first, and how they dealt with the story in the anime made it look weaker than it actually is.

From this season...Omamori Himari continues to depress me. I love the manga. I hate the anime. I didn't think I could hate an adaptation of an awesome manga to the extent that I do. I don't like the character designs, I HATE Yuuto's voice, and there are far too many inconsistencies.

I do like Himari's voice to an extent, and LOVE Shizuku's voice. It was EXACTLY what I imagined it'd be.
