I too find it incerdibly arousing to look at genderbended (lol is that even a word ?) characters if it's done right. It has a cuteness factor greater than any originally female characters. The thing that she ("genderbended" character) while having a female body is still male in mind makes it all the better. Is it just me or others have this kinda' thing too ?

I DON'T like gender bender that quickly devolves into 'lol lesbian tiem nao' without the characters showing much in the way of discomfort past an initial self-grope to determine that 'it' isn't there any more. Damn you Kampfer, damn you Kashimashi for squandering your potential. Other series I can forgive because it's mostly used as a one-time gag for laughs, but they used it as the entire premise of the show.

What is wrong? What is right? Everyone has their own opinion about what's right and wrong. That's why it'd be better to say preference rather than right and wrong.

Personally, I don't mind gender bender or traps, 's long as it's no hentai.

There is nothing wrong with your personal interests. Any negative reactions from people towards what you enjoy does not mean what you are interested in is wrong in any way, it's just their opinion and they will do what ever it takes to make you side with them because they do not like it - or more specifically, they don't understand it. It's different from their tastes, therefore they have to make some scene in getting their interest across because what you like clashes with what they like, which may explain why they give off a negative reaction because they may feel as if they cannot be friends with you due to that difference. More people need to accept diversity with other people's interests because it makes things more interesting, and is what makes each person in this world individual and special, rather than following mainstream culture and what people consider to be "normal".
