[General] 2011 anime Fanrage is just.....

FUCKING STUPID.
I need to vent this out.

So, we're currently experiencing a cluster fuck of anime fanrage SCREAMING out that the newest sequel/ spiritual sequel is ruining/killing/ destroying the whole series.

Here's some of the highlights and reactions

Gundam AGE
Fanrage = "Do not want Kids in my gundam"

Blood C
Fanrage = "That's not the Saya that I know and Love, and there's no Chiropteran"

Higurashi Kira
Fanrage = "They ruined this by making it an ecchi flick"

I really still think these people are stupid and fail to realize the true purpose of these titles. Always putting the cart before the horse, by putting in WAAAY too many expectations and once again fail to gather any info that's related directly to the series.

Gundam Age: They're trying to rake in new fans. Fanrage failed to realize that this is not targeted to them.

Blood C: They're trying to make a new kind of Blood. Fanrage failed to realize that it's a loose adapataion of the original blood

Higurashi Kira: They're trying to celebrate the 10th anniversary by doing parodies and putting in major humor and fanservice to the characters. Fanrage failed to realize that this is not related to the main story amd was made just for the lulz

Didn't even know that there was fanrage haha, but then again I don't stay update with these kinds of things.

About Higurashi Kira, I'm not mad it exists, quite the opposite, I'm glad that they are still giving attention to this series, it's just I wish they would give us a more serious story, there is nothing wrong with it, and since it's just a four episode OVA then I'm not to pissed about it.

Neither of it bothered me. Of course, except maybe Higurashi, neither of them concerned me, and I'm okay with Kira being all parody, ecchi stuff.

I mean, what do you guys wanted them to do? Pretty much the whole mystery murder thing was solved, all arcs concluded and anymore Oyashiro business would be an asspull. At least it's getting some attention again, and more Mion is always fiiinneeee.

Gundam AGE is a children show. So what? Don't like the premise, don't watch it. It is a bit annoying I guess, but we already had Gundam 00 and it's not like the franchise revolves solely around old or current fans.

No idea what Blood C even is.

But as I was saying, except Higurashi, there's no real impact for me, so the whole fanrage thing neither annoys me nor do I support it.

All this rage... it's bad for the heart.

I'm pretty sick of it as well, and if another Madoka adaptation is made, (say a slice of life spinoff), I'm sure it will be full of rage fuel as well. Yes, I understand that these newer projects are different and some people think that their beloved franchises should remain consistent, but I wouldn't completely disregard a series because of that. I dropped Blood C not because of it's difference in the Blood franchise, but because I couldn't really get into the story. If, say, Madoka comes out with a slice of life spinoff, I will view it as it's own property and not constantly compare it to the original series. I can understand people getting mad about a second season that is disappointing, but to call a spinoff series horrible before it even begins isn't right.

And I hope that this rage doesn't come about again for Carnival Phantasm.

Guess what, that's NOT the Saya I have come to expect, and there are NO chiropterans! Frankly, the only rage I see is from you - since when is stating a dissenting opinion (or simple dissatisfaction) rage? I don't see Blood C as a loose adaptation, in fact I see little to nothing that ties it at all to the originals. I'm not saying it's a bad series, just that it has NOTHING in common with the originals. If that's the intent, then why name it after a classic? The response from many viewers was easily predictable (and IMHO - justified). Marketing is the only plausible explanation, drag in a few extra bucks by raising people's expectations and then failing to deliever. I was disappointed, tell me something is the next installment in ABC and think I can reasonably expect to see some sort of actual connection.

I have read (and contributed) to the Blood C thread in particular, and don't remember any 'rage' at all except from you and one or two others who seem to think that expressing any negative opinion is some how objectionable.

and Once again you failed to see that's is NOT Saya Otonashi, and it's not in the same universe as Blood+.

And if you only see me raging at the fanrage, that's mean you don't go into any other forums to witness the stupidity of fanrage expecting the same Saya, for example YOU.

And now who's being narrow-minded, I just said I know it is NOT the same. You on the other hand refuse to even hear out dissenting opinions. It is not unrealistic that when one advertises something as the next installment in a well known franchise that it will have SOME connection - stop and read - SOME connection. Not the same SAYA but some connection to SAYA. Not the same story but some connection to the original story - and there is none. Maybe that doesn't upset or disappoint you, but it does upset and disappoint others. And didn't you ask what others thought? I didn't realize I was obligated to agree with you (why ask for opinions if you just want someone to agree with you). IMHO (and obviously I am NOT alone in this regard) naming the current Blood C and advertising it as the next installment in the Blood franchise is simply a marketing tactic to get people familiar with the name (in many cases fans of the original) to purchase something that is not what they expected. And as I said, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to predict the outcome. The same thing will happen with the new Code Geass - say what ever you want, but many people will expect some connection to the originals.

And I never did say that you can't compare or "try to "CONNECT" things and I don't care about that stuff. But I'm commenting on the fact people "rage" and get "disappointed and upset" on the smallest of things that didn't have ANY connection at all. And I'm just saying it's stupid to get upset or disappointed because it's different when it was originally planned to be different.

Anime Magazines publication specifically informed people that this is going to be new and different.


and I'm going to say it again, it's stupid to highly expect something using your own standards, especially the ones who expected this to be another Blood+.

They made it crystal clear that it was going to be different. And they never promised it's going to be the same







Even the staff from Production I.G doesn't mind the change and is supervising all the works. So who's the one that's narrow minded?

If Jun'ichi Fujisaku didn't like Blood C because it was different he wouldn't agree to supervise the series from the start.

Sadly these last two to three years have been the worst anime in a while except for a few, and ishithara suck ass by the way

You're entitled to your opinions - but so are we. Narrow-minded yes, not because you are right or wrong, but because you can't tolerate someone disagreeing with you. As I said, why ask for people's opinions if you don't really want to hear them?

There is no right or wrong opinion here - just different opinions and different perspectives, something you just don't seem to want to accept.

As far as who like's or dislikes it, who approves or disapproves - who cares. I don't agree with you, or them and I am not the only one. No one is trying to force you change your opinion, I just don't understand why you refuse to grant others the same courtesy.

The first time CP preview came out people raged. They gave up after a while and decided to just accept it as another mindless entertainment. If you want shitstorm wait for F/Z. Ah, figures as much. And I'll be watching Fate/Zero due to the fact that I'm a fan of the franchise/reading F/Z right now, not because of the staff involved. I'm hoping people aren't going to be like that, and instead, watch F/Z because they actually want to either learn about the fate franchise, or have grown to love it through the varies projects and games and such.

Judau in ZZ is 14, and a lot of the other characters are around the same age, if not younger.

In V Gundam, Uso is 13.

Children, as well as childish things, are nothing new to Gundam news. They may just be older stuff that newer fans that have only seen SEED and beyond don't know about. God, the first dozen or so episodes of ZZ was like a show for ten-year-olds, but it was still a great series.

Lol already explained at the OP post that I can't stop. I come there to update my database, but the curiosity got me when it comes to the discussion of any anime that I'm currently interested.
