I found no topics on this, and it was just released today. After watching it on my TV (with HDMI cable fkyer), I can say that I was very impressed with the art.
Yet, not only the art, but so far I really like the characters, even if some of them are assholes (Yes, you Grandma!).
If there was already a topic for this, my apologizes.
Also it helps that Ohana is voice by Itou Kanae (Ruiko Saten)
So that's why her voice sounds familiar... I recently watched Railgun.
Quite a bit more serious and less random of a show than say, Nichijou. Ohana has it rough... Haven't watched this kind of anime in a while, so I guess I'll also keep an eye on this one.
Just watched this. I have high hopes for this one, even though it wasn't on my list. Going to keep watching it, since I like it thus far. Looks like Ohana is getting a taste of what an ruined life she desired.
At first I just liked Ohana's character design and just knew I'd like it anyways, but after watching the first episode, there is a lot more to look forward too. I honestly haven't felt this way about any other series in a while.
Finally a good slice of life anime after a while. Can't wait to see whether Ohana adapts to her new environment or bring change to it. Definitely picking up this series.
Really nice series looking forward to this I'm sure this will fill my needs of anime for awhile I love the characters looking forward to getting to know them "just die" hehe

Spoiler:
I agree. I thought that the first episode felt really fresh to me, and I love Ohana's outlook on life. She's a very eccentric/believable female protagonist, and I really felt that way by the end of the episode, when she was crying while trying to keep up with the work at the spring, but wiped her face and continued on. She's very much a free spirit, and I'm looking forward to seeing her blossom overtime.
The rest of the cast seems dynamic, (especially Minko and the Grandmother), and I'm looking forward to seeing them develop around Ohana.
The first episode really rubbed me the wrong way, the main character get's put through a lot of shit in just one episode yet the most emotional backlash or response we get is a few tears at the end :/
Everyone around her was treating her like crap, not saying there should be no hardships but get angry for god sake, who wouldn't in such a situation? Your moronic parent dumps you into an entirely new place with a cold hearted grandma.
I'll continue watching, I'd just like to see her stand up for herself a little, instead of taking everything in stride.

actually I was getting the same feeling for the first like 18 minutes, but when I think of other anime where the female lead overcomes the hardships thrust upon her and stands up for herself and all that jazz we love to see her do, I know I can continue watching it and I can't wait for the rest, so I can still say confidently that this is the best new series so far.
Very powerful first episode. The animation, specifically the scenery and emotions is very well done.
Episode 1 regards:
Spoiler:
It is good to see an anime that breaks free from the chains of predictable plot. When that one girl got back handed I literally showered my screen in food yelling "What the hell!!??"
I cannot wait to see where this anime goes from here, all I can do is hope that the series as a whole keeps away from the generic and keeps things fresh.
Honestly, these first two episodes have got to be some of the best first episodes I've seen anime do in a long, long time. The characters have been extremely well-defined, we've got conflict going, and it's incredibly fun to watch. Not to mention the animation quality is beautiful.
Oh, and the writing is very well-done. In particular, it's nice to see that Ohana has a suitable (and natural, given the personality of her mother) past event that influences her current mindset.
I haven't looked forward to the next episode of a show this much since Madoka. Oh wait, that was last season.
[font=Verdana][color=green]This anime completely blindsided me. I had no idea that it was being released; but so far I have been very impressed. Can't wait for this series to develop; but I can imagine it trying to be like Aria; light-hearted but with serious messages. If it does try that, though, then it's in for a colossal task.
