Has anyone else noticed...

I think I may be a little late on this but has anyone noticed that a few of the new 2010 anime titles are sorta pushing the boundaries on censorship. Like seriously Japan is stepping their game up on this. Ladies vs Butlers, Seikon no Qwaser, and Dance in the Vampire Bund(to a somewhat lesser extent though) are the new shows that apply.

Its not hentai-grade but nipples are being exposed through all spectrums and the girls are being placed in more(if possible) extreme sexual situations than regular ecchi. For example Ladies vs Butlers just doesnt seem to care about having girls bare breasts flap around. Seikon no Qwaser, well hehe, apparently breast milk gives you the power to use basic elements as WOMD's. Dance in the Vampire Bund isnt that bad but it does on mild occasion show the bare chest of the main character, whose a loli vampire.

So what do you think? Is this a taste of whats to come in the future of anime. I personally dont have a problem with it, but it just sorta like slapped me in the face this new year when I saw all this uncensored anime. In a good way though. :)

Eventually, hentai will show on in your local television network. I like where this is going -(ﾟヮﾟ-)

I think it's just coincidence. That's only the Winter Season. If it continues with Spring and Summer than, yeah I'll take notice. Only problem is if they just keep showing fan service stuff, then there won't be many solid shows to watch in the future.

Too much of something spoils the fun. Sort of like how I could jerk off to the same picture of a chick's cleavage for months when I was 13. Now, thanks in large part to the internet, I can't get turned on by the same picture twice, unless I haven't seen it in months. Same with fanservice; I used to wait on pins and needles, hoping for a panty shot or beach episode, and now, when it's all over the place, I just don't give a damn. It's nothing special.

Anyways, more on topic, it is very surprising to see so much fanservice nowadays. They usually go to incredible lengths to keep nipples from being shown. Then again, when a show is about sucking on tits, if you completely avoiding showing a bare boob, it's going to come out as shit. (If you can ever consider a show about sucking on tits to be "quality.") It's really fucking weird when you consider the fact that it's still against the law to show unblurred genitals in video or even on paper. I'd much rather they ditch that law than let boobs be placed all over the screen.

Onsen episodes were nothing special in terms of fanservice. Usually a few seconds in a dressing room and then only heads visible, with some possible variations.
Beach episodes were better back then.



I've noticed this overdose of fanservice lately too and it's nothing bad to see the boundaries to move (in case this isn't just a coincidence), but there are too many of these shows lately.

Agreed. Maybe because I hate it when there's too much ecchi, if it's one time then all is fair in the world. But if there's too much cock tease, I would be watching/reading hentai instead.

I think the real problem with so much fanservice in shows is that it usually is put there to gloss over a shitty plot or characters. Ecchi series aren't really known for being good story-wise. Most of the time, story events are just ways of getting the girls to show skin or their underwear.

I don't mind the shows being uncensored, actually, I don't even mind fully uncensored sex scenes in an anime (though I guess it's not an anime then), but it can't be used to overshadow the plot. The story is most important; succeed with all other things first, and then you can add some fanservice. Do not overdo it though.
