Oh my damn. I just finished ep 3, and wow. The ending was a lot futher than I thought they'd go... almost every other regular fanservice show would have only teased it then thrown out a gag or two to interrupt thing. But yeah, in case you're not watching, ep 3 ended with the main character in his undies being sandwiched between both girls in their underwear who were using their bodies to rub "healing oils" on him. Followed by at the end he gets upset at the bigger breasted of the two, and after she asks him to punish her, the episode is ended with him spanking her a few times, as she leans over a table with her panties pulled down to her knees, moaning suggestively...

Yeah, all this and 9 episodes left to go, kinda weird though that will all the innuendo and they still haven't shown full topless like Kamen no Maid Guy though.

Of the three fanservice shows it seems Kamen no Maid guy has the most comedy and actual full on nudity, ToloveRu has the most almost nudity, but nothing really sexual, and this show has scenes that pretty much verge on full on sex or at least foreplay, but lacks nudity.

I'd d/l this if it were hentai...but it's all cocktease. Someone should just make a gif of all the fanservice scenes and then I can say I've watched the series...lol.

True. GIFs of scenes from this anime would give me a lot more diversity in my sig images.

Also, I find it funny that AnimeSuki doesn't list Kanokon, but lists ToLoveRu.

I watched episode 3. It feels like they referenced Evangelion towards the beginning. I could hardly believe that Kouta was actually spanking Chizuru with her panties down multiple times. This anime has more guts than I thought.

Yeah, that was the main thing that got me, though it was all still cocktease, and didn't actually even show any nudity. But I was honestly really surprised they went all the way with the scene. I kept expecting someone to burst in and it turn into a gag scene or something. But they went all the way through with it, which seriously is pretty impressive to me because as you said most shows wouldn't have had the balls.

Now we know why some anime titles are shown in the middle of the night. :D

In addition, I believe the anime is much more explicit than the manga. Either that or my copy of the manga has been watered down...

Oh yeah , definitely. The manga isn't even 1/2 as fanservicy as this. Plus Chizuru's brother is adopted and is a siscon too, unlike in the anime. A lot of recent fanservice shows have been amped up in the anime. Rosario + Vampire, ToloveRu, this there are quite a few others that are only moderatly fanservicey in the manga, but really all about boobs and pantsu in anime form. Of course other shows are the exact opposite as well, and are usually drama/romance (ala Kimikiss, and most eroge based anime).

It's almost as though Kanokon's goal is to bring back fetishism...

Anyway, the one thing I find most odd, is that Kanokon starts much later into the story. Usually manga-to-anime shows start from the first chapter of the manga and move on from there.

Why, what happened earlier in kanokon?

I have been thinking: With Kanokon's fanservice at its extreme, could it possible that the DVD release may be classified as hentai instead of anime?

Although small, the possibility still exists since DVD editions of anime tend to feature uncensored scenes.

Thing is, while the fanservice scene's are pretty racey for regular tv anime, I'm not sure I like the art style. The use of colors is nice, but they do that thing where the characters noses become like a 1 pixil dot, or disappear entirely. And to be honest that style just annoys the hell out of me.

I'm so used to that style, I didn't notice. Do you have a reason why it annoys you?

I think it's because they remind me of like the little gray men alien faces when they do that. Plus it just makes their faces look huge. I dunno, it's just really distracting to me, I'm not saying I need noses like Akagi/Kaiji, but something that makes their faces not look like an aliens would be nice.

In the manga scanlations I've read, they gradually introduce the characters. The first episode of the anime has only that flashback as the only thing from volume 1. Nothing else comes from the first volume.

@ ultenth: I see ... I was just asking because I'm curious as an artist. I like to keep things like that in mind.

I guess the animators don't want to bother with having clothes and hair conveniently cover the front of Chizuru's breasts now. Is anyone else thinking that the DVD release of this anime won't have those stickers but actual nipples?
