Well, rather than "trolled" I now think I should have said "rick-rolled".
I hear the book was written the same way, so you'll just get that trailer as an extra and it will be the only part of the fight we'll ever see.

Episode 5 was fantastic.

I seriously thought that Kanatagatari was Bakemonogatari's 2nd season but it's not. D:

I found this episode oddly enjoyable, it's still pretty much the same formula but it's nice to see some character development with Shichika and Togame. It was awesome to see that Shichika was not happy someone was attempting to take Togame from him, shame he won't make any advances even when bathing together :P
I'm interested in why Togame seems so worried about the Princess movements, it'll be interesting to see what role she'll be playing in the upcoming episodes.
However it looks like Shichika's next opponents are children? I wonder if even Shichika will hesitate when it comes to fighting them.
Luckily the wait for the next episode isn't as long, we're getting it on the 4th so that'll make things more bearable.

After all, he was being trained while he was a child. And when coupled with the training with his older, yet smaller, sister, it just isn't looking good for the kid (if he/she even is a kid).

The first I heard of Katanagatari was in the Bakemonogatari thread with someone saying it’s like its prequel or something. So yeah, You are not alone. XD
Anyway, I’ve just seen episode 5 but I’m still more concerned about seeing the actual fight that should have had happened in the last episode.

Latest episode wasn't too bad, I like that we're seeing Shichika gaining a more human side to himself, also it seems he's a bit worried of how things will go after all the swords have been collected.
Next episode seems to be going with a different art style, in fact it's completely different, and yet I'm liking the look of it. Kinda hoping it's retained throughout the whole episode.
Looking forward to it, and the next episode is on the 9th, not too far off.

Next episode will be so awesome I can't wait for it.
However if they pull another april's fool on us there will be blood... (Talking about episode 4 where all we saw was mostly Nanami and we didn't see the fight between Shichika and Hakuhei Sabi for Hakuto Hari).
To be honest, I was really expecting this series to lose it's interest for me. After all waiting one full month for 45 mins is quite a pain and sometimes not the best of things.
However the dialogue and especially the characters grow on you. Even characters you only meet for 20 mins end up being remembered for obvious reasons.
A good joke, an untimely death, a nice pun/comeback or simply seeing Shichika grow emotionally.
The narration and the dialogue in this anime is simply amazing. I really hope for some amazing new episodes.
For now I'm only concerned at how Shichika will react. What are Nanami's reason's in the first place? Why would she choose a different side than her brother's?
