I read a very interesting thing in this blog stating that Lelouch is similar to Jesus Christ. It basically states similarities between Jesus and Lelouch. Lol Lelouch is Jesus? They have very different personalities. I think Kazuma Azuma looks more like Jesus. He can send people to heaven with just a freaking piece of bread. Lelouch can only manipulate people to wage war for him. Without Geass he's nothing. I think he's more like bin Laden.

Back on topic, I disagree with Lelouch being Jesus. I believe the series leans more towards Celtic myths, and not Christianity.

I don't hate religion but literary deconstruction of characters and subsequent comparison to Jesus is giving me a strong reason. Every character under the fucking sun is either part Jesus or part Satan. A 10th grade English student with enough motivation could write and essay about how much Jesus is like Satan if he wanted to.
Sorry for the rant. It just bothers me when people (even teachers and professional writing critics) bring up analogues in characters that don't mean anything to the story, moral, or perception of the character.

And I kinda agree with blind_assassin. I don't see the point in comparing those 2 together, even if they seem similar. Though they both share events in their lives that are kinda similar, it still doesn't change the fact that I don't like Lelouch being compared to make him look like some sort of saint.

The idea what Lelouch and Christ as both feel sacrifice for the peoples in world may sound similar, but do remember Bushido about warrior code dying for the greater good.
Lelouches miracles weren't really miracles, he was superiorly intelligent and excellent strategist who could use all opporturnities for his advantage and he knew enemy tactics and human behaviour.
Lelouches will of vengeance, his ruthlesness for using peoples as mere pawns also greatly deffriate the actual Christ.
But let us also remind Japanese manga and anime makers do seek new things for their inspiration. Most japanese mythologies are used probably several times already so they seek something new what general japanese audience doesn't know.

I don't think anybody would get offended because of religion. It's common for authors to create characters that resemble Jesus (otherwise known as a "Christ figure"), for effect and symbolism and all that jazz.

well if u have seen the ending then u would know the ending was actually planned and he kinda meant for it to end that way not going into detials for spoiler reasons
