Well, the fact that they have similarities, c'mon man! I don't like religion / specially religion subjects.. But duhh!? if someone from the church sees this blog, he/she might freak out.

This is the most ridiculous topic I've ever seen in my life. Jesus is a religious leader and the son of God, while Lelouch is an anime character with a severe Machiavellian streak. There can be no comparison at all. Jesus is REAL while Lelouch is NOT REAL

I, as a Christian say that whoever started this topic at all seriously needs to read more books (The Bible) and stop watching anime.

Opinion. There was absolutely no relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Also, if we want to get into a similarity contest, a female should be the one to give Jesus power, but then Jesus was deriving power from God, whose gender we commonly refer to as a male.


I didn't know Roman centurions were all that friendly with Jesus. Judas selling out Jesus was nothing like what Suzaku did.


If we want this similarity to be a included, then we have to say that Jesus would have to have control over Roman centurions like Lelouch had control over the Britannian empire.

That's not at all what the article is saying. It's not saying "HAY GUYS, I THINK LELOUCH IS LIKE GOD AND YOU SHOULD WORSHIP HIM". It just calls out any similarities between Lelouch's story and that of Christ, as many people have done in the past with the much more appropriate Aslan (Narnia's kick-ass Lion). There's absolutely nothing sinful about acknowledging what might be some religious parallelism in fictional literature.

That said, this blogger is an idiot. There are many fictional characters in literature and other media that represent Christ quite openly (Again: Aslan). Lelouch is, by far, not one of them.

All those times when he's cackling maniacally as he blows people up (or indirectly causes people to be blown up by his subordinates)? Yeah. Not christ-like.

You kidding right? No offence to christians around here, but where do you take the confidence to say Jesus was real? Apart from bible and similar texts from other religions (where are often show characters similar to those of apostols and JC) there's no proof Jesus ever lived.
Unless I see someone ressurected and ascended to heaven, I jsut won't consider JC real.
The matter of being/not being real is one of the very few aspects Lelouch and JC have in common.

Unless you're trying to claim that his miracles did not exist, then we've got a problem. Jesus existed. It's an accepted fact by many scholars and historians of this day. There are historical documents that prove this. Especially Roman writings accounting the trial conducted by Pilate.

Jesus of Nazereth (Sp?) existed, yes. But you cannot honestly claim that Jesus Christ is without a doubt real. He said JC - thus, Jesus Christ.

You are probably unaware, but the Bible clearly states that all who sees God will die due to his glory. There's no way you can see God, or Jesus at this point in time. Christians simply have "faith" that Jesus existed and performed all those miracles, died and resurrected, just like how they believe God created everything at the start. Isn't that what all religions are about? If you could actually prove scientifically that God exists, it wouldn't be a religion anymore.

Also, I don't think you'll get much bashing. This being a hentai site obviously means that there aren't much Christians on here.

I understand the fact that they only believe and that this is what religion is about. But pspkiller626 clearly stated that Jesus (I took it as Jesus Christ from Bible) was/is/whatever real.
He might have faith that JC was real (I'm not going to argue about his opinion) but there's no proof such person existed, therefore I take his statement as false. He might have existed (as well as God might exist), but noone has prooved it yet.
It's the same as saying that King Arthur (with all his knight of round table, Excalibur, Avalon, lady of the lake, magicians) was real just because at a certaion point of history there was a person whose actions were later used as a foundation for the legend.

But I guess we're getting too philosophical right now and probably should stop. This problems seems like there's no point in trying to argue since we all have different ways of thinking.

No one's trying to say that Lelouch is the second-coming of Jesus. He's a fictional character. We get that.

What is up for discussion (though I disagree with it) is whether or not he is a metaphor for Jesus, like Aslan most certainly is.

It's an interesting comparison and I can see how someone made it, but I highly doubt that Lelouch was made in any way to resemble Jesus Christ. This is one of those cases where people read wayyy too much into a series.
