Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh

I wanna know what the denizens of FAKKU think. Cute or Quirky? Otaku or Surreal? I choose Azumanga because I am a fan of surreal humor. Some will tilt their head in confusion some will actually laugh. The characters are memorable to me, Osaka, Chiyo, and Sakaki are just adorable, and Kimura just flat out owns.

I love both series, but I choose Lucky Star...

I have to go with Lucky Star on this one, even though I enjoy both series. Konata and Kagami are just too awesome to be ignored.

I love the plot dude, and the characters. Gotta support you with that one...

I enjoy both of them for their own traits. I got more laughs out Azumanga Daioh but I could relate alot more to Lucky Star and I enjoyed Konata's personality. I don't really enjoy one more than the other, thus, I Choose Turkey Bacon.

Given different mediums, I'm going with Lucky Star. However the Lucky Star Anime was more entertaining than the manga. Lucky Star was a huge...franchise. It had character CDs, various posters, trickets, figurines and it even had a game... probably not the best game though.

Reading the AD manga was very entertaining. All my classmates read it and we laughed at most of the jokes. The LS manga is a bit bland. There isn't much about it that stands out from it but I still like it. I read it leisurely.

This is what I've got.

LS Anime > AD Manga > LS Manga

Azumanga Daioh was hilarious when I watched it and I also had a thing for Tomo, That crazy girl would be awesome in the sack.

Azumanga all the way. Its a great comic and one I love to reread. The ending always makes me melancholy :)

Lucky Star is generally funnier, but that's because I'm a bit familiar with the current otaku culture. For someone who isn't, the jokes are opaque. For example, if you don't know who Haruhi is, you'll miss out on a ton of jokes involving Konata -- her attitude and costume at the cosplay cafe, her chat on 2ch talking about the last episode seasons 1 Haruhi, her phone wallpaper. And if you don't play online RPGs or haven't played eroges, you'll miss out on even more jokes.

Lucky Star is like looking at a political cartoon or Doonesbury.

On the other hand, Azumanga Diaoh requires less specific knowledge. Its funny even if you aren't that familiar with Japanese pop culture.

Azumanga Diaoh is like reading Peanuts or Far Side.

In any case--Konata's dad fucking wins at life.

Sorry if I was a little vague. I am speaking overall; story, characters, and last but not least, hilarity.

Honestly, I enjoy watching Azumanga Daioh more. Though something is keeping me from disliking Lucky Star.

This is a pretty tough choice but I think I'd have to go with Azumanga Daioh. The story seems a little more in depth (which isn't saying much) and less random. Plus, it has Sakaki...
