Mahou Tsukai Kurohime

Well, thought I may as well start doing more than replying so, here I am recommending another manga for you all to read and perhaps enjoy like I do.

"Kurohime" as VIZ has entitled it, is the story of a 12 year old boy called Zero who handles four guns and fights for the side of justice, as he was saved years earlier by our title character, Kurohime, and vows to fight for all that is good (yeah, yeah, but it's fine). Kurohime, sometime after rescuing Zero from an untimely fate, goes to war with the gods and has her memories and her power to create "witch bullets" to do just about whatever she could want (though not without consequences for forbidden deeds) taken away by "the guys upstairs" and is imprisoned inside a 10 year old's body (no, back off Raze =P), and meets up with our hero Zero (no joke intended) and so the plot unfolds.

I've only read up to the 4th book (which is all they've released so far), and is quite light-hearted with quite a few battles. It supposedly takes a very interesting twist, which comes up at the end of 4th book, and becomes significantly darker and more serious, though I'm not going to spoil it for you guys reading this (you can go spoil it for yourselves if you want, but I would have much rather been left on the cliffhanger).

I probably haven't done a good enough job of describing it, but hopefully you guys will give it a go just the same if you see it around. Anyways, it's pretty awesome so far, and it can only get better (I hope).

By the way, no anime yet, even though Japan is up to volume 13 T_T

this is currently on my reading list, and gotta say the art is really good, kurohime is, pretty hot and the story definately has started getting more darker. to bad scanlations are not that fast, an anime would be great.

Yeah, I saw some scanlations, but they were only a chapter ahead of Viz, last time I checked. If only I could read Japanese; I would order all my manga from Japan and never have to rely on Borders for manga ever again *sigh*

Well, it's going to be extremely different, and I've finally found up to the 7th volume in my little corner of the world (too bad I have no money). I guess I should start reading scanlations online, even though I've already decided to collect the manga and love reading the actual book. Hopefully the slowdown in the world economy won't mean a massive delay in Kurohime's releases, or of other manga, for that matter.

EDIT: Oh, and screw Borders, support the locally owned manga and anime vendors! They're more likely to know their stuff and staff are generally friendly and awesome people. Never go to the damned bookstore chain of Borders unless you get a massive discount. That is all.

I really love this manga. While the first few chapters the story seems kind of decent but its starts to get interesting on the later chapter. I nearly cried on one of the chapters any manga that can make me feel like that is really good for me. Also, this manga kinda reminds me of Bastard! Kurohime and Dark Schneider would make a really awesome team.

I really fucking wish I could be Zero right here... lol.

I hate Zero, but Kurohime is fine. I wish it was just her...

Oh why? I admit he's kinda lame on the first few chapters but on later chapters I think he's not that bad...

Oh, maybe that's why. I've only read 7 chapters. I'm tired of his Justice obsession. Killing is wrong, ect ect.

I'm guessing that's about halfway through the second volume? Anyway, he does get better as the story develops, especially since it gets darker in the fourth/fifth volumes, and hopefully it's something to look forward to then.

Still, his justice obsession continues, if a little less visible later on, and by going on what I've read up to, it'll possibly have a lot more effect and make more sense (I hope) as the plot unwinds and we get wrapped up even further. Damn Viz and the delays in manga releases!

I kind of understand how you feel... If you still hate him in the later chapters, all I can say is to read on... you won't be dissapointed.

Chapter 24-27 is out on One Manga

Heh, I think that's all the way to 8th volume now, which I've just finished. The 9th is still shrink-wrapped, sitting pretty on my bookshelf screaming "READ ME, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!". Kurohime is good, but I swear I'm going crazy...

Oh, good news: Zero isn't around as much/as annoying with the justice thing now. Just more space for Kurohime right now I suppose, but there isn't as much comic hilarity between our two main characters T_T. Oh well, least it's serious business now and a bit darker/dramatic...I can always reread the series.

Story got deep more emotion as of late with Zero gone to the other side now its all suspense and comedy now. Watching as chapters come out on onemanga. A magical sniper I was wondering how long before this catagory of shooter arrived if there are guns sniping will follow.
