I thought the epilogue was a weak attempt and trying to close a series that could've used some more explanation. I liked it, but I don't think I appreciate the intent, as this epilogue literally salvaged the series.

True, but its better than just leaving us with a sunset ending.
The final 90% words and talk about paradoxes, 5% card captor sakura, and 5% fighting. It was the most messed up plot ever, i mean the only thing i can use to describe the ending was.
I know how you feel, LostQuartet. This time, CLAMP just took everything and combined it into one monster mash designed for the audience to gobble it up. After a certain volume #, things just didn't make sense, and the plot just fell. (I sort of get it... not really, but kinda.)
Btw, I'm pretty sure you mean the manga, and we do have a thread here in the Specific manga section: https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?t=6332
Okay, spent the last three hours reading the last 70 or so chapters:
Spoiler:
Clamp certainly looked like they had planned a lot of the plot out from the beginning, but it just came out as WAY too convoluted. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was that Syaoran and Sakura were NOT their CCS variants. Yes, it was even more surprising than the clone-turned-father twist. The last 20+ chapters were horrible in that they were mostly panels of massive amounts of magical bullshit. I couldn't even tell what the hell was going on in most of those panels. The ending was alright. Personally, I would have liked a happy end considering all the bullshit they went through just because Fei was an arrogant bastard and Clow couldn't control his own powers.
