Being half Polish, I feel I should be somewhat offended by this as the moe-fication of a group responsible for the killing of millions of Poles is a little unsettling. I certainly feel for any Jewish people taking a look at this. Any backstory on this would be great.

I feel you man. I'm German and this topic is deeply engraved in our minds, sometimes to such a ridiculous extent that the Nazi label gets applied nearly anywhere.
Normally, I'm not easily offended, but this crosses the line for me. This is not offensive on the "it's just fiction" level like rape, guro and such, but it's based on something millions of people have lost their lives for.

I didn't realize modern day Germans have that much resentment for Nazi Germany. The good thing I guess what can be said about the book is that I think it's a pretty low-key production. Rei Hiroe appears to have done some artwork for it, but he's not really known for high class work in the first place. Also, while searching for more info on this, I found out about some Nazi-girls game for the XBox360. It seems some Japanese people have an obscure fascination of this...

Hmm yeah, the fascination with Nazi Germany isn't particularly new... but I have a feeling it got worse lately.
Germans have developed some kind of Nazi paranoia. You can't engage in a political discussion without Godwin's law fucking everywhere.
We also have laws banning all symbols related to Nazism and Holocaust denial, and laws are basically very strict when it comes to racism. Still, we got two "national democrats" parties here, but about every authority tries to ban the shit out of them. To no avail, sadly... (they're within a gray area that's still covered by freedom of speech, but the actions of the party members speak for themselves)

I have to say, I've always been intrigued by the whole concept of Nazi Germany itself, but not to the point of liking it or being obsessed with it. Just the idea that one man could change the face of an entire country speaks bounds of human influece, in the worst possibly way.
I think a lot of the fascination comes with just the whole organized structure of the whole thing. The menacing uniforms, the hand gestures, a single symbol that is so easily recognizable, and the whole pervasiveness of it all. You've got to admit, the Nazi regime has inspired many popular and iconic media, such as Star Wars, and it's influence on the idea of evil is seen almost universally.
I think a lot of times when Nazi Germany appears in drawings and other media, we don't necessarily think of the lives lost. What we see is, "Hell yeah, evil government," not "Genocide, Eradiction, and Destruction." However, you'd think that because of WWII being the indirect cause of the United States destroying the hell out of two major cities of Japan, you'd think they'd steer clear of the whole thought of Nazis.

-.-, I agree with Nash on this 100%. It's one thing to just put a cute anime girl in a Nazi uniform just to make her look hot and such. But when those said girls are glorifying Nazi belief and ideals, that is just wrong. Whoever even thought of coming up with this book better be ready for millions of complaints on how sick he/she is. It might have been a bit tolerable if those pictures in the book were just a parody and not glorification for the most sinister group that mankind has ever had the please to know of.

Still seems more like a Nazi artbook though to me. This series of books also has one on military weapons and other weird stuff to make an art book out of.

Well i don't know if they MOEfied anything in the texts (Which in this case i have to agree with you) but those illustration aren't any different than the many avatars i've seen on FAKKU... (+ the thread related to that in the nosebleed section)
Myself think it's wrong to have these avatars in the first place but it seems people here just keep it quiet in that case i've got nothing to say.

I don't belong to any communist party or league or whatever, haha...
I believe in the principles of free speech and thus, I find the laws banning holocaust denial and the likes as way too harsh (since the existence or non-existence of the holocaust can easily be falsified), but this book or nazi moe in general doesn't sit well with me.
That doesn't mean I would ban the book or any illustrations if I got the chance, however. Let the people read what they want. I'm not claiming moral high ground.
I think Razen has a point with WTC moe, however. If people saw that, I think they would realize that this matter is not something to be trifled with, whatever your stance on this issue may be.
