Otaku is a term for someona being obsessed for his interest so much that he/she disconnects from reality, also I don't think that if you like anime you need a name... I mean you don't call actiontards to people who like action movies... So "I like/enjoy watching anime" is fine

Otaku still works. Even at my lightest moments of anime-fallout, it is still a ferociously accurate title.

I'd like there to be a word besides "otaku," but I'm not sure what it should be. And I don't really care because I'd never use the word. I'd simply like there to be a difference between "otaku," who watch a ton of anime and fervently love anime, and the more casual fans.
When I tell people that I'm an otaku, I want them to think, "This guy has watched hundreds of series and has been an anime fan for years." I don't want them to think for a second that all I've watched is Bleach and Naruto.
