New Anime: Claymore

I just started watching this show at a friends request and I have to admit based on the first episode I wasn't expecting to enjoy it it seemed just like another Beserk type anime with alot of violence but by the time I hit episode 3+ I have found myself really enjoying this show there is just something really tragic about alot of the characters.

Anyways I am enjoying this show so much that I am actually gonna to be hosting this anime on my DDL site ( no I am not trying to plug my site lol its a fast but tiny site with only a few animes I update because I personally enjoy them and so my close friends can check out shows I rant about to them .. though if you do want to know the addy Jacob I figure I definately owe you for your amazing site XD ). So I thought I would see if anyone around here is watching the show and if so what you all think of it. =)

Claymore...yeah, I recommend this anime for you guys. Full of gore, blood and violence, one of the best action anime for this year.

I'm sure it would kill your bandwidth pretty fast if you posted a link here. But yes Claymore is awesome and I have been following it up till the episode that came out yesterday.

It took me a little while to really get into it but the last few volumes of the manga were incredible. I think it is up to Volume 13 scanlated? If you like the anime, read the manga.

And everyone always mentions the manga's when people start talking about animes.. I find it somewhat irritating to be honest. Don't get me wrong its great that people love the manga because odds are if they didn't there wouldn't be an anime but I often want to tell people to judge the anime based on its own merit.. often scene's are added or removed entirely from the manga.. the style is often quite different.. not to mention there is color and voice actors lol.

Personally what I do is watch a show so I don't have any preconcieved notions as to how things should happen because "they did it that way in the manga" then I will sometimes go back and read the manga and see what they originally did out of curiosity. But to each their own I suppose heh =)

Good point, I do tend to set standards when I read the manga or see the anime first. But the reason I prefer the manga in this case is just because it is so far ahead and the events going on in the future are... awesome to say the least.

I was immediately attracted to Claymore when I saw the first episode. One of the best anime ever! I don't read mangas because I find them boring. Even though most anime comes from one. ^^;

I also watch and read Claymore and i say it's a excellent anime buut i do suggest you read it first... hehe :wink:

I'v read the manga all the way to volume 8 ( thats the farthest that i'v found at the local bookstores :cry: ) and if the anime is as good as the manga then I really want to watch it. Any links for it?

Baka-Updates has torrents for the anime series. I just finished watching episode 23 and all I have to say is... Damn, Clare is awesome and scary at the same time...

It should be. They ruined the anime went completly off course.

That they did. Hopefully we will get lucky and Raki will die, and save us from having the person who is only around to help advance plot, which really does not matter when you are watching an anime for the violence rather than the plot.

Then again, as far as the manga goes I have not seen any new releases for a while. If you have seen anything after chapter 13 I would be highly interested in getting it. If any of you would like the previous chapters let me know, I got all of them off torrent a while back and have them saved.

well there are more people hoping for raki to die (maybe just jealos^^) or on the other side that he would become strong enough to be the first strong male protagonist^^
maybe its just a male instinct that there have to be strong boys/men protecting the sexy,innocent or whatever girl/lady/woman ^^
