Yeah, that was the puzzle piece I was missing.
So the only question remaining is "What will they do with the series" which can't be answered now because of a lack of information. I hate it when there is a question that can't be answered.
Yeah, it sucks. There's really no telling what the show will be like. But I did see this on Wikipedia, quoting Anime News Network articles:
Earlier speculation from a purported document leaks has Bones again acting as the production company and Yasuhiro Irie is announced to be series director.
So, the second series should still be good, if the people making it are the same.
