It is truly sad a lot of people didn't watch this anime. I loved the ending and the whole show in general. Also the ending wasn't bad at all considering it was obviously showing it would be continued onward.
Well, yeah. The ending has that optimistic, we-will-succeed,atmosphere that can be seen in tons of sports series. It's hilarious that Toua's supposed to have a car accident after the final arc in the anime -- and yet the ending was bright.
I sure liked how psychology -- not motivation -- is the key to winning games. Kaitani sure does know his stuff! I can't agree more with the op being creepy. I mean seriously, should we really lust over Toua's body? I can even count his ribs, the skinny guy.
I like gambling, not in the literal sense, but gambling as a way of showing your will to win, even if the odds are out. That concept is repeatedly hammered by the protagonist to his members, the higher-ups, and us the audience.
If the series had a certain element lacking, it's with the protagonist. He is too cool not to lose -- and everybody else bows down to him. He has no Achilles' heel whatsoever, and if he did, he's just putting on a show for his own profit. I wished Kaitani would've explored Toua's character more, instead of giving him a very flat personality.
