I sure did feel something for the series. I feel that it could've gone infinitely better with a main character that is a little more considerate of the people around her instead of Kirino.

I have the same opinion on Yui in K-on and the over shoujo cuteness in air and clannad. To each his own... Kirino is annoying if i didn't see all those doujins... now i just wanta see her raped.... damn i sick.

It wouldn't be great, but it would be by far better than the nonsense that I was tricked into watching. Worst show AIC has produced by virtue of horrible concept. I give it a 4/10. If it was produced by a company other than AIC (who tends to go overboard on production values), I probably would have considered a 1/10 or 2/10.
Ore no Imouto is the ultimate mindfuck. They toy with your expectations like no other show. The title immediately suggests that it's a show that you should avoid watching. The first episode suggests they're far more intelligent than that. Then the rest of the series turns out to in fact be FAR MORE STUPID than what the title suggests.

@A2ZOMG Because the show is about "Brother and Sister relationship" and The Busybody Brother not about Otaku culture. You're expecting the wrong thing. It's already clear from the title that's it's about "sisters".
it's never about Otaku Culture but more about how Kyosuke solves the problem related to it. Otaku culture is only used as a plot device
Examples from the PSP VN
Saori route -> Saori is engaged to a 40 year old, the guy wants her to stop her hobbies. Kyosuke comes in to try and convince Saori to make her own decision.
Ayase Route -> Ayase asks Kyosuke to help her understand more about the Otaku culture, so that she can get closer to Kirino.
Kuroneko -> Insist about making her doujin on her own, in result neglecting her social life. Kyosuke comes in and helps so that she can be more social while making her doujin.
It's about Kyosuke Helping people
In short, OreImo is not a bad story, but You're the one putting high expectations, and it;s clear that this anime is not your cup of tea

Precisely, they could have been so much more, but instead they give me this garbage. What's the point? Why should I believe that Kyosuke has a real reason for helping his younger sister who does nothing but treat him like a tool and then garbage? If we simply ignore the fact that Kirino has an obsession with anime and eroge, the story still falls apart since her actions are completely unjustified (you do NOT kick a guy in the balls period unless he's molesting you for instance). In the end all that happens is Kyosuke never shows real initiative for himself and lets himself get pushed around for no reason for basically no reward. Do you expect me to call that a real story? Last time I checked, much of this is stuff that typically downgrades your average mediocre slice of life harem anime. Worse, this show isn't even funny.
Mediocre story at large. There is nothing unique about it, except for how over the top ridiculous and offensive they are and how much they try to pass it off seriously. The only good thing going for it is being produced by AIC, which simply raises it from worthless to bad.

I was late on the release of this anime but I gave it a try and I loved it. There were some scenes that brought some of the manly tears within me out. I would definitely put this on my favorite anime list. Oh, and by the way, Kuroneko is CUTE!

The series audiences are composed with over 20,000 in the us alone.. And im sure that a good number are from fans, but mostly weebs watching to cross it off the list of shit they watch. I watched it, meh typical series and yes i hate Kirino and think Kyosuke is a bitch.... and that it... if you dislike a series and you have a emotional feeling to it then they did there job. If you like it or love it the same. Anime is a sub for getting out emotions and entertain you. Example K-on..... i fucking hate it sooooo much that i actually thought of making a vn of their guro death scenes... i actually was going to learn code for it then... i realize... they got me.. if you feel something for the characters anime or real people shows then they did their jobs.... i still wanta kill yui but i digress from the subject at large so i can party until the rapture.

It's all Utah up in this place? So you get along with your family all the time, never disagree on anything or is the lack of the Osmond family unity only in everybody i ever met... Maybe the the nut kicking was not in every bodies experience of family lifestyles. I never heard of a sibling group being the total absent of the Brady bunch or Let it to beaver dynamic. Maybe i lack the family bonding experience... meh i lack emotions anyways so that a shit idea.

Actually, it's even more weirder if you haven't even got a kick in the nuts ONCE by your sisters in your entire life, by accident or not, be they older or younger. Siblings are meant to care for each other, BUT they're also there to torment you at the right moments. Basically, it solely depends on the family situation, since some people (somewhere around the world) can actually relate to Kyousuke. People like me (yep, not a lie).
Believe it or not, there are real people that act like bitches to their siblings. But in the end, they're bound by blood, so they're bound to help each other in their time of need. Call it "Tough Love" or whatnot.
Just because the situation is too extreme for your case, doesn't mean it is for others
