This is the more active thread. so I guess I'll ask here: which version do you guys prefer? This question only goes to those of you who have read the light novel or the manga, of course. I personally prefer the manga, due to an actual effort being made towards the general likability of the characters. The art's nice, too. Very sexy. Also, the brocon stuff is turned up to 11, and since I was introduced via the doujins that's just tops with me.

I find it hard to pick. I was always switching back and forth between the manga, light novel, and the anime, but if I had to chose, it'll be the manga because I prefer reading mangas over anything else.

They all have their moments.

For the actual story though, you'll definitely need to do the light novel. The anime is going to cut very short in the actual scope of the story so unless there's a second season of it then you won't know much beyond it.

The manga could be somewhat iffy on this because it is still going. As long as it can keep going then I see no reason why it won't be able to cover everything.

The animated Character Commentary from the DVD is interesting to watch, go ahead and try it.

Finished watching the series, I think they should have ended it on episode 11, it was really quite touching that he finally got some real thanks, compared to the ending in episode 12 which is basically both of them acting tsun for pretty much the whole episode.

I liked this anime, wish I could get the novels though (damn japanese keeping the good stuff for themselves), personally I don't like characters like Kyosuke, they are too meek for my taste, but then again the story wouldn't be what it is without characters like that.

Ayase was awesome, one of the cutest characters I've ever seen, I was hoping she and Kyosuke would form a couple, but alas I was disappointed, perhaps in future novels their relationship will unravel, although it wouldn't be bad seeing both Kirino and Kyosuke like Taiga and Ryuuji from Toradora, you know realizing they can't fight against their feelings, becoming a couple despite their blood relationship (such a thing would make me vomit in the real world, but this is anime, everything's possible).

Hopefully we'll see more light novels of this series.

Finished the anime, but I really want to read the novel. I like to compare the animation to the novel, because it gives the "original author's intention" feel. Ayase was completely different from what I expected her to be like.. what a shame.

As for Ruri, I didn't like her at first, but by the time the series ended, I suddenly grew very attached to her. She's just so adorable. x3

I love that whenever someone mentions incest, they make damn sure to also mention that it would make them sick in real life. Why are you trying to make sure a group of people you'll never meet know what you think about it? There are some people who, while they wouldn't do it, like it but don't feel the need to shove it down others' throats that it's "sick/gross/bad/etc"

From a psychology perspective, the more assertively people deny something, the more they secretly enjoy it or are curious about giving it a try- and are simply trying to convince themselves that they honestly won't have anything to do with it.

I'd go on, but it's nothing that hasn't been discussed before, with both sides never really reaching an accord.

Um, while this may be true in certain cases, it is not true in most cases. While some homophobes are secretly gay, most of them are just biased douchebags.

On another note, incest is interesting because it is taboo, something about working against the odds. But not everyone is going to be interested in it, which is true about just about every type of interest you can have.

I'm personally of the opinion that people forever restrain and deny themselves of things they truly desire, as they must conform to societal norms lest they be branded a freak.

Incest is a touchy one, since it's still debatable as to whether it's effects upon the offsprings' genetic data is detrimental or not. I believe the whole morality thing to be trivial and imposed.
