It wasn't that bad though. I was expecting it to be at least twice as bad as it turned out.
This episode convinced me that this series is the ecchi equivalent to Bunny Drop. Which sort of puts it in the same boat as Astarotte's Toy as a series with plenty of fanservice with a legitimately touching story underneath.
I thought their parents are just "missing" from the accident, totally didn't realise they didn't survive! That caught me off guard, too =(
Spoiler:
They are missing. However, when people are missing in that situation they are very, very likely dead (if this was real life anyway). So, for all intents and purposes they are dead, until the novels end, which means the author can bring the parents back for a happy ending.

Was looking forward to having the final ep with their reunion, too.
Use spoilers if you want to discuss crucial plot points you fucking idiot.
I've just finished watching episode 2:
Spoiler:
WHAT? I was NOT expecting that at all. It just seemed like another one of those happy anime with the same plot at the start, but that was a really good plot twist. I had tears in my eyes from the shock, it was so unexpected.
Argh,I really feel sorry for them, the emotions they show when Hina brings up the parents are really.. tears keep welling up in my eyes . Abit embarassed since I'm a guy.. But I really have the urge to cry. Maybe I'm too emotional,[I'm a cancer and I'm a sucker for family dramas]
If anything bad happens to either of the girls I don't think i'd be able to hold down my tears.. Am I the only one here?
The story revolves around the daily life of a university freshman in the Tama University School of Literature Department. He has an older sister who took the responsibility of taking care of him when their parents died. He left home to live on his own when his sister got married so as to distance himself from his sister's family. Approximately 3 years later, his sister and her husband suddenly went missing on an air flight. His life is thus turned upside down when he was tasked with the responsibility of looking after the girls. He now has to live with his three nieces. Two of the three are from a previous marriage and are hence not blood related. The girls are of various personalities: a 14-year-old tsundere, a 10-year-old prankster, and a 3-year-old toddler.
