Which do you admire more in an anime/manga hero. A hero that relies on a trusty weapon IE. Vash (Trigun) or one who prefers to get the job done with his fists IE Chad (Bleach)
I don't care as long as they get the job done, though it looks more GAR through brute and pure force. With weapons, I expect it to be done in a graceful manner or complete slaughter.
I find weapons more exciting and flashy. Why bother with your fists when you've got a gun or a sword?
I am pretty sure DBZ characters would say oitherwise. (90's kid spirit talking)
But, fists for sure, something about unarmed combat it just awesome.
Hajime no Ippo. Awesome series. The reason why unarmed combat is so awesome is because one is using the maximum of his or her natural limits and wits in order to overcome an opponent or obstacles. It's raw skill in the literal sense, mano y mano. That was how shit was done in the past when people still had honor. Now people just gang up on each other and call that a fight.
In my case, I prefer weapons a little more than unarmed combat simply for the fact that, as others have mentioned, fights tend to be more flashy. I prefer weapons in the sense of close combat (swords, scythes etc or any weapon that has kind of blended with the character, like Hibari Kyoya with his tonfas), but some range battle weapons are great as well. However, no one can deny that a straight punch in the face tends to deliver a greater message.
Definitely weapons. They involve asplosions and things getting turned to dust by the pretty purple light of doom. However, fistfights do tend to be more exciting as weapon battles are always *fire* *dodge then fire* *gets hit but fires back* *does a barrel roll*.

With the modern day as well, it seems a person cannot throw a punch without the law bustin in (well in california). The reason the law busts in is because the people that usually fight are morons,. . . etc
could go on and on
It's not really important for me if they use their fists or some kind of weapon when fighting. If asked what I prefer though, I prefer weapons. Among weapons, I prefer blades and other close combat weapons more than guns and other long range weapons.
Fists. Guns and swords are awesome, but fists deliver the message better than a sword or a gun. Plus, you get to kill them with your own flesh, not with a metallic object.
well both sides are good but anyone can pull a triger but not anyone can do it and not kill anyone and anyone can throw a punch but not anyone can deflect a bullet they both have great pinicles in both but generally id perfer both cause nothings more supriseing than disarming the sword fighter then getting kicked in the face(i kinda rambled at the begining im not sure what i was geting at)

You basically said "Both are cool but you need skill to be effective"
