i apologize for thread revival but i do have some very good new censoring evangelion 2.0 you can [not] i have done a bit of research and ive discovered to my delight that the moive is finally coming out on dvd in japan on march 22. and i apologize if that doesn't hold any significance you you but i figure its good news cause its bound to jump the pond pretty soon here, or if you prefer to read subbed like most of you do. you will be able to find all the high-quality copies you want then. the information backing this up can be found at evegeeks.org i get the feeling this is going to make a lot of people happy eh?Good, I was starting to worry. yea i read an article this mourning of it being june 30th but i couldint find it again so i figured i shouldn't post it without my source. and pllllease tell me your kidding. what the hell did they change auskas name to?

And why blame the dub-team when the name change was the fault of the Japanese in the first place?

Also, Evangelion 2.22 is currently planned for a DVD release on May 26 in Japan.

Hey, bumping this thread to ask a question.
I have never seen the original adaption of this franchise. Would it be foolish to just watch the movies instead of watching the series first? Some are telling me it skips some crucial moments, others say it's fine to do so. I've understood that this isn't a mere retelling and will be having it's own direction. So when it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter. Can always watch the original series after the movies if I feel like, right?

Well i don't believe it's wrong to watch the movies before the series since it's pretty much the same thing with only a few changes. But since only one movie was released, if you can't wait to know what's gonna happen, just go for the series.

@ Dirty: Yeah, you can go ahead and watch the movies without having seen the series. Although, considering how long it will take for the 4th movie to come out, you will be able to watch the series and End of Evangelion, rage about it, watch it, and rage some more.

I liked it for the most part (saw You are [not] Alone on BluRay, yaaaahh) but raged at a few bits.
REI BOOBS = BIGGER!? That's gotta bug her fans...

I did like how they update the animation quality though. Really added the depth to some things they had to skimp on initially (EVA appearances, buildings, backgrounds, etc). But I really love the charm of the old series.
Plus I hear... may or may not be true, no idea.

They did which sucks becuase that was my favorite angel fight too. I hope they come back in either the 3rd or 4th movie, but that seems unlikely.
