Lol. Eva rebuild. Man. The day Eva finally rests along with the animes like dragonball and gundam is the day Japan ceases to exist XD

Its been more than a decade since I last saw the original. Is there anything in particular that I should know about before watching this? I hate surprises.

the 2nd movie is 50% remake
the 3rd and the 4th should be 100% different.

Sorry to dig up this old topic but I wanted to ask some people who may know about the subject instead of creating a repeated topic.

Evangelion 3.0 came out in Japan quite a while ago. Did anyone see it already? I am dying to watch it but I can't find a proper way to do so. If anyone knows of something, please, share.

There's subbed camrip somewhere out there. But it doesn't matter since the Blu-ray will be released this week and UTW or some other group is bound to sub it.

Movie 3.33:

Just finished 3.33 after a long, long wait and my it was worth it. What a brilliant film. As far as animation goes, it's astonishingly beautiful but we all expected that. The plot became more dense but still managed to retain the core of what Evangelion originally was. Most of the characters, expect for Ritsuko in my opinion, were very diverse and complex even the ones that didn't have much on screen time. Misato, Asuka, Gendo, Fuyutski and even Ayanami showed their colors instead of making bland appearances.

*SPOILER ALERT* PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK

The ending was simply one of the most beautiful things I have seen in quite a while. I absolutely loved how, after the whole battle, Shinji, Ayanami and Asuka were somehow reunited and walked away in the destroyed horizon of non existence and since Asuka took the lead, as she does, it seemed that nothing had changed or that this phase was over. It inspired me. Of course, the song that played during the final credits was a perfect fit to what EVA is.

There were some things that annoyed me, but very little and almost meaningless. For instance, the only development Ristuko had was getting a stupid haircut, Misato was dressed like she was working at a fast food joint, Ayanami and Mari's breasts were exaggerated and, in a few cases, highlighted for some reason. I mean, EVA has always been charged with sexual themes but showing it like this doesn't seem interesting at all. Also, Wille? I'm guessing it means 'will' in German but when you glance at it, it looks like Willie. Besides, that Wunder ship seemed a little too TTGL+Final Fantasy for my taste. What probably annoyed me most of all was that stupid transformation into a lion-like creature made my Asuka and as if that wasn't enough, Asuka herself became lion-like.

But, as I've said, the things I disliked were meaningless. Overall, the film is brilliant and boy, was I in the need of a good film.
