Makoto was an extreme case of an indecisive character. However, he turned into an extreme case of a confident character. Indecisive + Confident = Rage among fans. I felt Mercelida (Lotte's toy) was the female equivalent to Makoto. She had a harem of males at her beck and call, slept with her female servant on occasions, but also had feelings for the MC (Despite dropping their daughter on him and bailing. I'll overlook the shotacon cause that was awesome). I couldn't help but despise her on the same level I despise Makoto.
