I thought there was a topic for the Steins;Gate movie but I couldn't find one.
Anyway, a mini trailer for the movie has been released. The translation for the film is "Steins;Gate the Movie: Loading Area of Déjà vu". I can't fucking wait for this. Who else is looking forward to it?
Japanese production company Kadokawa began streaming the first television commercial for the Steins;Gate Fuka RyÅiki no Déjà vu film on Saturday. The sequel to the 2011 Steins;Gate television anime will open next spring in 17 theaters across Japan. (sauce)
Edit: Info from earlier this year in case people missed it:
Chiyomaru Shikura, the head of the original game's developer 5pb. (MAGES), confirmed that the Steins;Gate Fuka RyÅiki no Déjà vu film will have an original story set after the "true end" of the earlier story. He added that since it will not be a compilation of the television series, he could not recommend it to people unfamiliar with Steins;Gate.
Kanji Wakabayashi is directing the film with supervisor Tarou Deji and chief directors Takuya SatÅ and Hiroshi Hamasaki. Tatsuya Matsubara and Naotaka Hayashi are supervising the story scenario, and Jukki Hanada is writing the screenplay. Kyuuta Sakai is once again adapting huke's original character designs for anime and overseeing the animation process at WHITE FOX. The cast is also returning:
Mamoru Miyano as RintarÅ Okabe
Kana Hanazawa as Mayuri Shiina
Tomokazu Seki as Itaru Hashida
Asami Imai as Kurisu Makise
Saori Goto as Moeka Kiryū
Yu Kobayashi as Ruka Urushibara
Halko Momoi as Faris Nyannyan
Yukari Tamura as Suzuha Amane
I swear if they fuck this one up, I'll kill someone.
I've got high hopes and expectations, I think they'll do a good job. But that's because I just want more Steins;Gate.
- Added some info from earlier this year in case people missed it.
Sequels and movie adaptations have a habit to suck. But I like the sound of "original story".
My theory about what the movie will be about
Spoiler:
>Loading Area of Déjà vu.
For me that sounds like a separate "world", more travels through dimensions.. maybe. Like he did to try to save Mayuri. And because déjà vu is in the title, maybe the movie will focus more on that. For me both the déjà vu phenomenon and the butterfly effect theory are very interesting topics to discuss about. To this movie will hopefully be blast for me.
Trailer:
First scene: you see Makise at a railway platform. Maybe Okabe left them?
Second scene: You see Okabe standing by a window. Outside is tall buildings. Maybe the reason why he left the others was to accept a job offer. And in the scene he's at his new job.
Third scene: Makise is crying, she wants Okabe back. Maybe she travels to get him back.
What will happen?: A. Okabe traps himself in the "Loading Area of Déjà vu". It's Makise's job to get him back.
B. Makise feels that something is wrong with the job offer. But Okabe accepts it anyways. ..... Oh look at that Makise was right, the company only uses Okabe. It's now Okabe and Makise's job to stop them.
Update:
The official website for the Steins;Gate franchise announced on Friday that the Steins;Gate Fuka RyÅiki no Déjà vu film will open on April 20. The sequel to the 2011 Steins;Gate television anime series will open in at least 30 theaters across Japan.
I also finished the anime some months ago, and man, that was amazing. Hadn't watched such a good anime in a long time. I got goosebumps with the trailer, can't wait for it to be released!
I'm all lubed up and there's still about 3 weeks until the release and longer until it gets subbed and stuff but I don't care.
Looking forward to this so much.[/h]
