Publisher Kadokawa began streaming a video to promote the hit run of the Steins;Gate Fuka RyÅiki no Déjà vu film on Wednesday. The video features the movie's ending theme, "Itsumo Kono Basho de" (At The Usual Place) by Ayane (11eyes, Ayakashi) and the opening theme, "Anata no Eranda Kono Toki o" (This Time That You Have Chosen) by Kanako Itou.
The sequel to the 2011 Steins;Gate television anime series opened on April 20 in at least 30 theaters across Japan. It earned 199,445,318 yen (US$2,013,799) as of its second weekend. (Source)
Oh god it was so amazing, the romance, the allusions to the Visual Novel, the feels, the fanservice, the Kuristina, the Upas! Surely, surely this IS the choice of Steins;Gate! I will be talking about this movie for ages because it's one of the few movie adaptations from a VN that does justice beautiful mad scientist justice to the series!
I haven't played the VN but after watching the anime, the movie did a great job with a new story (spinoff? side story?) that picked up after the anime ending.
Is it just me or was Kurisu more tsundere than ever? I lost it when she became Kyouma.
Well, I trust YurixHentai's source stating that it's canon on the first page since the paperwork is there and only one scene conflicts with the VN, but that scene could be explained through the Worldline theory and the majority probably only watched the anime so it's pretty inconsequential.
Kurisu sprinted to Kyouma and only managed to say "I"...man that was some feels there. He just vanished and she was there, barely comprehending it. I don't get how no one else noticed a bottle of Dr. Pepper (masterrace drink) just dropped out of nowhere. If his existence was wiped away, how the hell did the drink get there?
The ED was fantastic. I downloaded the album the same night. I'm tracking down the font used in the ED subs (WhyNot subs). The movie was fucking amazing. Sure, the general idea became rather clear (since it is a req. to watch the previous installments) but it didn't detract anything from it. I give this a solid 10/10. It is the choice of the STEINS;GATE.
When he finds out that Kurisu built and used the time leap machine, and the ensuing lecture right after. His reaction was great, you could tell just how traumatic the entire ordeal was for him and how deep a scar it left on him. Not an ounce of idiot mad scientist play there, only the harsh truth spoken by someone who has seen multiple horrible realities.
Just one of my favorites, but man, there were quite a few feels in this one. I loved it.
