I have been thinking of this shit since when I was a kid. My first though is Goku from dragon ball. He is very powerful in the universe that what the anime say. But now Goku can be easily kill by a death note in just 5 second if I remember correctly.So the deathnote is the stronger weapon, just write the name the person die, no need to even touch the enemy. So what anime character do you think is stronger??? Mabe should close this topic because it is lame.
Your topic title says by "strength" thus the death note is disqualified as it is a freaking notebook. It has "ability," but even that it is merely a tool and depends on others. Hardly a threat in terms of strongest anime character.
idk, i think Goku is the best bet for this. Or is it Gohan now. Isn't he considered stronger than his father? Or shit, lets include some fusion characters :P super saiyan 4 Gogeta

Wow, this is easy, Ichigo Kurosaki in Full Hollow Mode OFC! He's not at his true sense (he doesn't know what hes doing) so he can go to space, another galaxy, what ever, he can even open a rift in time/dimensions and travel thru them. And he knows flash step so it wouldnt be any problem to get away from those that are good close combat enemys. Oh, and since he's a hollow, he have Fast Speed Regeneration so a little cut wont help at all.

If she knows it's going to kill her, any living being would want to stay the fuck away, unconsciously believing the threat to go away and poof.
