To Love-Ru cancelled

According to Raw Paradise, the Shounen Jump released at the end of this month will have the last chapter of To Love-Ru. I have to say, I've only heard the name and have no familiarity with the manga at all but a lot of people seem to care. It's even been sticked over at /a/ and the thread has getting on for 700 replies now (it's only been there for 2 hours).

Thoughts? Feelings? Do you even care?

This has now been confirmed to be true through several major anime websites, including ANN.

Haven't bothered with the manga, and I was severely disappointed in the anime, so I can't say that it bothers me too much. I know it has a cult following though, so a lot of people are going to be upset if it is true.

If you love fanservice manga/shows, you will be angry.

No really a surprise, it's been at the bottom of Shounen Jump's weekly popularity poll for ages, that said, i would miss it, im used to getting my weekly dose of fanservice.

really that's pretty sad i never liked the anime but the manga had a special place in my heart at least when i first started getting serious with manga but be honest it had no plot at all only fan service ..with that said it will be missed

You're right. Even though I'm talking about the manga - and I knew it was a manga, hence "Shounen Jump" and "Raw Paradise" - I seemed to be using words like "episode" and "show". Well, it is an anime too so I guess I just wasn't thinking straight and got a bit mixed up.

By "Canceled" do you mean, Finished, or "Due to an unforeseen event, or low popularity ratings, we can no longer show the series"

I'm assuming it's not the latter.

It's the manga. I'll edit the original post to clear up any ambiguity. And link1438, it's been bottom of Shounen Jump's popularity polls for some time now.

if it was the anime, i'd understand, but the manga is like, the best thing ever.

I expected as much. The series spent too much time on fanservice and not enough time on plot. I love fanservice, but it's never a good stand alone. TLR needed a better balance to keep people interested.

Yeah, I agree with ya so I'm not really that shocked. A little saddened maybe but it had to end sometime anyway.

i've managed to spend a few hours thinking about this, and i've come to terms with it, mainly because now that it's going to end, it'll force the plot to come to a conclusion and rito will actually make a decision and be with that one girl forever (theoretically).

ah well, it's been a great 3~ years. i remember my first time seeing it in japan and going: "oh shit, those are fully exposed breasts."

Two words: Harem End.


I'm of the opinion that TLR would be worse with plot. If the plot isn't at the level of say Love Hina, Tenchi Muyo, El-Hazard, and Love&Collage (as examples), then it would just get in the way of the ecchi/harem antics.

no! no way man, when there is finally something going on (or there's something because it's canceled?} it's canceled? shoot.... and here i am, sitting patiently for another thing happened in the next 160 chapter...

If i remember it correctly To-Love-Ru does pretty well when it comes to volume sales, which i assume has been the only thing keeping it from being dropped earlier, so if we're lucky maybe some other magazine will pick it up.

After all, D-Gray Man just got transfered to that monthly magazine, so it ain't impossible.
