To Love-Ru cancelled

Damn jap kids! They complain and complain about the manga not being good enough and when they scrap great manga's we all suffer*cough* Double Arts etc.

Still, I'm going to miss TLR. The plot was virtually nonexistent after a point, but the characters were fun, and ecchi was excellent, and I have to say I looked forward to it every week. I'm going to be sad to see it go.

I agree. Shonen Jump ain't a monopoly anyway, there's other magazines willing to pick up this one. And yep, TLR does good numbers in volume sales (my resident manga shop sees his TLR volumes fly off the shelves) so it ain't a total downer.

Although rumours are going around that the manga is going to be cancelled, we cannot be sure that the author and artist are the ones who intend to end it. Furthermore, I have always thought that To Love Ru is a little too fanservice-y to be in Shounen Jump, so it is possible that said title is being transferred to some other, more appropriate, magazine.

Last but not least, to can a manga which does relatively well in terms of tankoubon sales is a little unusual. After all, publishing companies depend on tankoubon sales to reap profits, according to a report I read.

SHONEN JUMP? No wonder. I've never seen the series, but it doesn't sound like a Shonen based series. If it's in Shonen Jump... wow, of course it'll have low ratings. People who read Shonen Jump look for Mangas like Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, Death Note etc etc etc.

Such is a shame, if it is true.

I posted about this in the manga thread, but I'll write here, too. I've looked around the net today and none of the big anime news sites are reporting about it, and I haven't seen anything official yet, so I'm still on the side of it being a rumor.

Meh I have never seen the series so I really don't care. Though it sounds like it will at least get an ending and not just stop like Zombie Powder did. That shit is just annoying as hell when a series just ends abruptly with no ending at all.

Well Thats A Bummer. I Enjoyed Reading That Manga From The Very First Chapter.

Serialization ending... Maybe it'll be continued, just not through WSJ..

Issue 39 of Shounen Jump magazine has confirmed that Yabuki Kentarou’s tentacle laced alien harem manga To Love-Ru will end next month ending all speculations.

The last chapter will be featured in the August 31st issue of Jump.

While the magazine has said that the decision to end the series was planned by the creators, it is rumoured that the real reason was the lack of fresh storyline, in turn leading to plummeting ratings.

Shueisha has not censored the manga in the Tankouban version, but even the ero-manga upgrades the series is famed for have failed to lift the manga back to its initial success, which has seen TV and OVA anime adaptations.

All I can say is "Oh well, only fanservice."

only fanservice, but a weekly dosage of well-drawn, consistent fanservice. i'd rather have it than not.
