Tragic Anime Couples Who Deserve Better?

Is it a bad thing that I laughed at the ending of Romeo and Juliet? :?

And I wouldn't say it ends that differently, considering that the two people are still dead by the end of it.

I did find the ending a little different just the fact that there should be more sadness/pain in both there deaths, unlike the anime ending because it makes you think it was all for the better, while the novel doesn't....oh i guess it okay if u laughed....nano desu

The anime went downhill as it progressed. At the end I didn't give a damn anymore about anyone's fate. Bad_Gonzo production.

Although the anime didn't separate them, but the future is really cruel..

I always thought that in the anime, Yuichi and Rika got together. In fact, I remember that there was a photograph of the two them married, so I would have to disagree that they deserve better since they aren't dead or "not together" regardless of the amount of the time they have left together. Coincidently, it reminds me of Ayashi no Ceres since

You know which tragic couple deserves better? Jil from Tower of Druaga: Aegis of Uruk. I have no idea what agenda Kaaya has in mind, but I certainly believe Jil deserves together, or that they could went up the tower together. (RAGEEEEEEAJWEFANO#$F!!!!!)

While I'm not a fan of early Gundam works, I do think Kou and Nina from Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory deserve a better future than the shit the producers put them through, and ultimately break apart. Speaking of Gundam, Gundam SEED Destiny, I think what Cagalli and Athrun went through was bullshit. They deserve better.

Speaking of Romeo x Juliet, Basilisk is an anime that uses Shakespeare's template except in feudal Japan with ninja clans instead of houses. I really pitied the couple, and the ending was pretty dramatic.

And as much as I thought Fate/Stay Night was a shitty anime, I thought that Emiro and Saber deserved better.

I'd have to agree with this. Yuichi and Rika pretty much got what they wanted by the end of the OVA. (it was Yuichi's decision to stay by Rika's side until the end, whenever or however short it might be)


Meh, better start watching the Sword of Uruk if you have the time. Kaaya's motives were already revealed. (and I somewhat like Fatina & Jil to be together)


and pretty pathetic if I may just add. I recall having watched Basilisk in its entirety, in just a single day! (a lot of skips and fast-forwards made) - and I still managed to get its relevance. Might have been better off if they had made it into a movie instead.


I'd agree about the adaptation being crap but I honestly liked how it ended. (they're just not bound to be together) which made me remember about Dragonauts, for its ending which rather pissed me off! - Simon & Nia definitely deserved such an ending way more than Jin & Toa did.

Id say School Days, that was a pretty shocking ending

Besides Oboro and Gennosuke, I believe there was another couple in the series, Hotarubi and Yashamaru, if I did not remember wrongly. Their deaths were just as tragic.

Most of the characters would have led a peaceful existence if not for politics pulling the strings in the background.

Ok the show isnt over yet but it won't happen so.

I don't think that's tragic enough and Bleach won't end anytime soon. There wasn't much about them to begin with compared to other couples mentioned. And they weren't couples to begin with nor were there any references that they were one.

Frist I think it's tragic because it's my faviorite charcter and he dosnt get his girl.

2nd Sure there not together but they definitly want to be one. Shes the only person that he really cares for and shes all up on his junk like 24/7.

The main characters from Chrono Crusade deserved better.
