Villains... Really?

As you could guess from the topic gif. this thread is about anime villains... That was a trick-statement... That guy is indeed a villain but in no way would you assume he was given his... (pardon my bluntness) gay apperience and behavior.
Why is it in anime most villains are the weirdest people imaginable!? They don't even seem evil they just seem crazy. I can think of a couple titles that had a great plot and shit but then the main villain appears and I go (-.-) and stop watching it. What is up with Japans idea of villians?!

Well, I assumed u haven`t watched the entire series... cause that villain u are talking about don`t actually become a villain.... U will see the true villain real soon after a few episode..... Trust me..... The true villain in that anime is badass

I have to disagree. Papillion made the show that much more interesting. And he was funny.
But seriously, have you guys not watched enough anime or something? There are so many "villainous" villians out there that I don't even know where to begin. I mean come on, Bleach for example, that Captain Aizen has got to be one of the most villainous characters I've seen and this is in Bleach, like mainstream anime.

Well in case u speak to me..... I only point out that actually that there is actually a badass villain in busou renkin and that it is a shame that he stop watching because of papilon.... Well, I know Papi is kinda funny guy... though sometimes he creeps me out... but no Busou renkin without him.... Hahahahaha
Oh yeah about villain... there is too much that I don`t know from where I have to start.... Try the villain in the Full metal panic, Berserk, and so on (sorry my memory fails me....)

I don't mind the more simplistic "I'm a bit crazy" villain types you find in typical animes rather than they pure evil, malevolent, bulky bad guys of American cartoons. I guess that's just my prerogative though. XD

I can't really think of a show with villains so ridiculous it ruins the show. Maybe it's just the series I watch, but I haven't noticed anything like what you're talking about.

On topic I've never run across a bad guy who was lame enough to man me stop watching the series (I can name a good guy). But I've seen really lame ass looking bad guys like that guy. Though they always did something totally hardcore and it wreaked everyone’s life to the point of god like sweetness. While I think it could happen I don't think it ever will. For me at , it’s the actions not the appearance that makes a bad guy.

Lelouch from Code Geass (Not a villain really) made me stop watching Code Geass for a week. Then I 'toughed it out' and eventaully just accepted his gay comstume.

You do realize that he's one big joke, right? He's not meant to be threatening or terrifying in any way. It's just another gay joke that mangaka (for some reason) love to throw in their manga.
Anyways, not all villains in anime/manga suck. Great example of one who's better than the villains in Americans comics:

Way I see it, if psychology is sprinkled into the background of said loony villain, then there's really no problem. As for the gay costumes and overly effeminate badguys...I got nothing. Why create them? Sh*ts and giggles mainly. ...Come to think of it, was there ever a cool gay villain in an anime that wasn't just for comic relief?
(P.S. Though he wasn't a villain for long, and it's considered an anime/videogame, I think Endrance was a pretty cool gay foil)
