What do you think about censured anime?

I hate censur in anime and think that series like R-15 and Manyuu Hikenchou would bee realy good if it whas not for the censur.
What do you thik?

Hate it, recently they have gone too far with the censoring. But the studios gotta make some money out of this.

It's the sexiness in those shows that would make me watch them but if they're censoring them I would just not bother watching them which I have been doing. (I have no idea what the shows are but with that censoring I won't even bother looking to find out. since I never watched it to know if it was any good I am likely not to buy it on DVD later. Most of the DVDs I buy I have a rough idea I enjoyed the show from watching some of it online. TV would be another source if they aired anime but if it was censored I'd never watch.)

I don't watch any series that warrant censoring (except Umineko, but that was a different kind of censoring), so my opinion may not matter much, but I don't have a problem with it.

Usually, the censoring only exists in the TV version, and for good reason. There are restrictions that channels have to abide by. The censoring is usually gone for the DVD or Blu-ray, so people who want to see the tits can buy them (or wait for someone to rip them and put them online). As a system, it works very well.

South Park in America works basically the same way. When an episode airs, it's got the word "fuck" bleeped, but if you buy the season when it's released, you get the uncensored episodes and can revel in as many "fuck"s as you can take.

The only problem I might have is with series that censor in such a way that the nudity is never meant to actually be seen. Such as when a bunch of girls are in a hot spring, and one girl is strategically placed so that her hand covers up another girl's boob, or hair conveniently covers every centimeter of every nipple. That can get annoying because you know they never even animated the nudity, thus you will never be able to see it.

I don't usually watch anything that's censored but if I can't find an uncensored version of it I really don't find it that much of a hassle. Mainly because I'm more interested in the story part of hentai.

I seen censors ever since i first layed eyes on a tv ages ago. I don't really care if its censored (keyword "Tv" version) since there will be uncensored version anyways. As for hentai, well deal with it. But over exaggerating the censors on something that not even anything bare naked shown is just stupid and could go to a point its unwatchable.

If its a series i don't really give a damn about and it has censors, big whoop.

Over-censorship kills it completely, especially in Manyuu Hikenchou, as you pointed out. Of course, if the source material being turned into an anime is of such a level already, you know such problems will arise.

Why can't we have anime with just that right amount of sexy that doesn't need censoring?!

A little bit I can handle but over censoring is just terrible and can really kill a show.

I avoid watching censored anime because it spoils my interest unless that anime is something I really love. I rather wait than re-watching the series just for the uncensored events. Most of the time, I look for infos about the uncensored release or I patiently wait for them because I know it's worth it.

I have never really got censoring in anime, and hentai especially. I mean, if your gonna make an anime with adult themes, why censor it? That's always baffled me.

So far the only anime that has had censorship that has really bugged me is Blood-C. The censors are for violence more so than breast and whatever.

Companies have started with the censoring to help "drum up" attention for the DVD release. They believe that by covering even minor panty shots, they can force the consumer to essentially say, "OMG that must be so HAWT!! I need to buy this so I can see all the awesome tits!". (The previous sentence caused me a great deal of pain) Unfortunately this is normally the case, such as the "Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou" release.

Not only adults watch this you know? Theres still kids. so what do you would happen.

Have an option to watch it uncensored? We sorta live in an age where we can sit at the couch when it is not time for a certain show to be on, flip through some menu's and rent an episode.
