What Was Your First Anime?

Pokemon > DBZ > Princess Mononoke > went on from there.

It was either Doraemon or the tapes of Mazinger Z that I watched at my uncle's house

kimba the white lion, I had a tape of it when I was 6 or something and I watch it once a week I guess, again and again.

Well if you count movies then as far back as I can remember that would be spirited away or...ghost in the shell..one of them two. I was a bit hestitant of anime back then, I think I had only seen the very disturbing animes back then, so I was expecting spirited away to scare me xD But it's one of my most favourite movie's of all time now.

As for an actual anime tv show, probably Naruto, I was quite addicted, now adays I can't stand it.

Sadly... My first time watching anime was naruto. Though I started looking for "Japanese animations." After that I found Haruhi. Now I'm hooked.

I was a pervert before that though.

8-10 when I started being a pervert.

14 or so when I started watching naruto. 5 months later Haruhi.

Age 15-16 was hentai.

18 I joined fakku. ^^


Edit: I'm really not sure what my first anime was, but I'll go with naruto. I know in some other threads I said it was some other anime. I really don't remember. I'll just say I started watching anime in general when I was 14.

Sailor Moon when I was little and, to my shame, didn't even know what anime was... thought it was just a regular cartoon.

Hard to say... First truly Japanese anime that I watched was Pokémon, but there is that one series that was made in Japan but it's not fully Japanese, Moomin (1990 series). I watched it when I was really really small and surprisingly it's still quite popular in Finland.

Doraemon. i watch it when i 5 years old. cause that time doraemon was first anime in Indonesia, maybe ( i think )

Voltron was my first and still one of my favorites.

As far as I can remember it was

6. Sailor Moon (Dropped it after the 2nd episode)

The first stand-alone anime movie I watched was Akira back around early 1992. That was probably the point when I began to figure out what anime was and became a fan. I didn't get really serious into it until the mid 90's. Before that it was an on-off affair, but I kept up with what I could.

Before that the things relating to anime I remember the most were I watched two of the most bastardized series to come to the States - Speed Racer (Mach Go Go) and Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamoto). Realize I had no clue back in the 80's what the hell they were. I just figured they were normal cartoons.

I actually can't believe some of the series some of you on here had as your "first". Time has really REALLY REALLY flown. I was rolling my eyes when Pokemon came out in Japan and remember back in the early 90's when Pioneer was bringing over Tenchi Muyo and was my first dose of harem. I think somebody even said Haruhi Suzumiya and Clannad?!?! Wow. I guess stuff like that is hard to fathom when you've been watching it consciously for nearly over twenty years.

I remember watching Voltron, but only a little since I was like 5 or 6.

DBZ was my first real one that I remember. It was on at like 6:30am on the weekends when I was like 8 or 9. It was only dubbed up until when Goku arrived on Namek, so I'd watch the same set of episodes over and over and over. I was so happy when they announced the continuation while I was in middle school.
