and i agree with Comartemis about Shishio
but it's worth noting that Kenshin was using a reversed-edge sword when he used his best attacks... but Shishio wasn't in a very good condition either...
A fairly good point I suppose; if Kenshin had been wielding a standard katana he'd have sliced Shishio right in two.
For that matter if Kenshin had been wielding a standard katana, his first attack would've been faster (remember, the sakabato is ill-suited for battojutsu, as Jin-e pointed out), perhaps faster than Shishio could've reacted to.
Still, Shishio was tough enough to take an Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki in the ribs and keep going, even if it took him a minute or two to get his wind back. I'm pretty sure the same attack put Yukishiro Enishi down for the count in the Jinchu story arc, and Enishi is arguably the only character in the series (Besides--
maybe--Sojiro) who can match Shishio in terms of power and skill.
